This is a cleverly disguised Star Wars topic, hidden from all the spammers and insanity of the SW forum.

I'm curious if you stand by your review of SW III. Have you seen it since the first time you did in the theater? Have you changed your mind about it now that it's had time to sink in?

hmmm in hiding we are, taken over our forums, the prequel gushers have...

Yes, I stand by the review. There were certain problems with the film, but in general it was much, much better, even on par with ROTJ, which I liked.

A lot of things from the first films were ignored which is good, and a few nagging questions were answered. I thought the duels were a lot better, although the film was still highly flawed it at least felt like SW.

Gah! I have unwittingly been lured into a Star Wars thread! Blasphemy and deception!

I think gushers should just admit that they wet their pants and accept it.

They can take the PT, but they can't take a moniker????

Well for the SW people around here I'm kinda curious. Lucas' goal with the PT seemed to be to give Darth Vader more dimension and sympathy, but in my opinion he fucked up royally, what do the rest of you think - do you sympathize more with Darth Vader after the PT?

Nope. I used to think that he was a great villain with depth and emotion (but not tooo much). But now he is just a whiney boy. I think that, for me at least, GL did exactly the opposite of what he set out to do.

"Maybe artists shouldn't talk about their art."
"Well kids, I guess your father isn't a hermaphrodite."

He managed to take the most loved character from the original trilogy and make him the most hated one. He deserves some kind of recognition for that. Like getting to compete on the Special Olympics for the hand of Skywalker Ranch.

I don't know. I never really sympathized with Vader, but I do think he destroyed the character.
