Wasn't the explanation for not allowing these guys to talk about these "future episodes" to stop people from asking about them? If so, it probably had the opposite effect intended, because it will only fuel speculation.

Lucas has repeatedly said flat out he won't make any new Star Wars movies. He plans to rework the movies into 3-D for release in theaters in a couple of years, and help with the TV series and approve the CGI version of the clone wars microseries. But no new Star Wars Episodes, the "saga is complete." Of course SuperShadow is a phony, and he's the only one claiming that there are really going to be new episodes. Many people WANT there to be more star wars movies, heck I would too if I knew they'd be good. But it's wishful thinking. I would think if he were going to make these movies, he'd give more vague answers, or hint at them to keep people assuming they would be made. He'd want to start hyping them as soon as possible, like he did the prequels. Is he just unsure at this point? I certainly wouldn't see it as being impossible, just that Lucas keeps insisting he has no plans to make any more movies and the story is over for all he is concerned, and let the EU tell the "rest of the story" as they always have.

If somebody really wants them they should write some fan fiction or make some fan films. We may not have as much money as Lucas, but if storyline and characters are what really matter the most, then that shouldn't be so much of a problem. You won't get to profit from it and it won't be canon of course, but who cares about that?

Anyway, what would these new episodes be about, if not a retread of the Expanded Universe? Luke training Leia as a Jedi and starting up a new Jedi Order? The Rebel leaders setting up the "New" Republic?

I personally believe the TV show and the Clone Wars animation is a cover-up for the production of Episodes 7,8, and 9. When Lucas was directing the original Star Wars movie (before it was called Episode IV: A New Hope), he told Mark Hamill there would be 12 movies, total. Since then, it is rumored to have been shortened to 9 movies. When Lucas spoke to Peter Jackson on the set of LOTR, he joked about how Peter was directing 1 trilogy out of 3 books, and that Lucas was directing 3 trilogies out of 9 books.

Lucas made a remark to the press that there were things in TPM that would be explained in Episode 7... then he quickly corrected himself... Episode 6 because "that's all there is". I think Lucas almost spilled the beans. Or is it indecisiveness?

If the movies aren't going to be created, why go through all the trouble of making every ILM employee sign a nondisclosure agreement? Why bother having Peter Mayhew sign a contract for 3 additional movies at the time of ROTS production? I think there's a few things Lucas isn't admitting. I think I'd trust Mayhew's word over Lucas' any day of the week. Sure, it could all be a scheme to drum up a bunch of speculation, but why would Lucas even go to all this trouble. If the films aren't going to see the light of day, why doesn't Lucas just tell everyone, "No more," and then, stop doing things like these just under the media's radar?

I read the Peter Mayhew interview once, and now it seems like I can't find it, even if I try to Google it...

I think it's a conspiracy!
