Nope.
Booze-fueled paragon of pointless cruelty and wanton sadism.

I've heard of exactly 50% of those bands but I won't tell you which 50%! That is for me to know and you to find out. ph34r.gif

I'm going to assume that you've heard of The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, since they had a ridiculously over-played radio hit in the mid-90s.

How about Primus?

I can't decide if I like them because every song sounds the same, but I'm not sure if it's because they can't write very well or because I'm hearing the same song over and over. And it's always in the background in the art room so I don't listen really closely.

I dunno.

Mission to Mars is fairly spiffy. Anybody heard of them?

WHAT!? The best part about Primus is their ability to do something completely different with each song that they produce! I honestly cannot believe that you think every song by them sounds the same. Try listening a little closer next time.

Oh yeah. This thread is actually taken from chefelf.com in 1994 when I was in high school. I can't wait until the thread about the new show "Friends".

Hey, Primus just put out a new album, and The Bosstones are still going strong as far as a I know. I think they just put an album out last year...

Just because a band isn't all over MTV doesn't mean they're not worth talking about.

Hey, calm down Hecc. Like I said, I wasn't sure, so chances are it was just coincidence that the same song was playing every time I was listening. Or the guy who puts it in just really really likes that song.

And if a band is all over MTV it's usually not worth talking about. But sometimes it's worth trashing. If I ever got a band and one of our songs got on MTV I think I would cry tears of rage. Because they only very rarely have anything good on the station. Half the time you can't tell the difference between MTV & BET...

I know I was just saying...

Just because a band is on MTV doesn't mean they're not good either. It's just a matter of picking through the crud and finding the gems. I mean, we wouldn't have had some of the best bands of the early 90s breaking out if it weren't for MTV, so like it or not, I think we owe them a thing or two.
