I'm gay and looking for a gayfriendly site to meet new friends. Is Chefelf an open minded forum? Tell me why or why not.

Chefelf is more about STAR WARS, occasional other movies and whether George Bush is the antichrist ... or just an asshole. I wouldn't call Chefelf (the site) "gay friendly;" you can certainly separate the haters from the tolerators pretty quick, and many of our august members are gay, while others may be and are quiet about it because the occasional debate about marriage pissed them off too much.

But mostly it's STAR WARS. If you're looking for some gay-themed discussions with other gay people, you'll either find a small niche here, or more success elsewhere.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

I don't hate gays, but please don't try to remind us in every single post that you're gay. It gets annoying.

Well, from the posts read from him so far, he isn't listening to you.
As long as you don't ALWAYS talk about your sexual orientation, like a previous member named Voodoo Dog, I think you'll fit right in.

Me too. How disappointing.

As for Chefelf.com... I guess it's gay friendly. It's not gay unfriendly. But, as civ2 said, if you're looking for compelling discussion about gay issues you probably won't find too much here. We're much too busy discussing things like Star Wars.

We let anyone sign up and talk here about anything. Unless you're a Nazi and want to talk about the European race all the time.

He's coming back in september.

If you really want to remind everyone you're gay, just put it in the sig or something. Currently all your posts seem very stereotypical,

You know, we don't need to know your sexual affiliation, and most of us likely don't really care. As it has been stated, we're not necessarily gay UNfriendly. We just really could not care either way. If you avoid acting like a moron, you'll fit in nicely regardless of whether or not you're a homosexual.

Is Chefelf.com friendly to heterosexuals? I feel the need to ask for some reason. I'd hate to find out that all this time I've been being discriminated against even without flaunting my sexual preferences. Does anyone know that I'm heterosexual? If not, I am, and I hope you're not going to discriminate against me for it.

In all seriousness, the only member of the forums I've seen discriminate against people based on their sexual preferences is Jane Sherwood, who tends to discrimate against people who's sexual preferences include her. I think you're pretty much safe from Jane's biggotry, Don, so you're actually a step ahead of many forum members, for instance Voodoo Dog.
