I hear that Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith will NOT be released on VHS (video tape), it will be released only exclusively on DVD.

What do you all think of this particular development/rumor?

It's not surprising, I suppose. Considering the affordability of dvd players, why not focus on the profit force. By releasing it mid-November he gets a jump on the Christmas rush (or he's just hedging his bets).

It's not as if there's any ONE Definitive set of the series anyway, or the chance of a future release which will jive with past episodes.

I've got mine already, a bootleg I got off the street from a guy that looked like Lando. And I think I overpaid the $5 I gave him, especially when I consider the story or lack of one.....

In a short time, they are actually going to quit making vhs. dvds cost only like 10 cents to make and vhs costs like $2. and once dvdr gets more popular vhs will disapear off the planet. so take care of yur vcrs so you can watch the origional trilogy forever!!!

I have no problem with anything being released on only DVD. Does that mean that people are actually still releasing things on VHS? I can't even remember the last time I saw a VHS tape.

If I never see a VHS or cassette tape again, I'll be fine with that. And I'm not one of those A/V nerds... it's just that discs are so much more convenient.

Transfer your tapes to DVDr for preservation!

Anybody try making a VHS tape from a disc? That would be interesting...

I like VHS. They aren't filled with a bunce of worthless junk like most DVD's are. the only DVD's I like are full screen... I cant stand wide screen. It annoys the freaking hell out of me!~
