inside your 'pipboy' it's one of the buttons at the bottom of the screen...
select rest...

you can rest for:
10min
20min
30min
1hr
2hr
ect...etc.
or
until healed
untill party healed

but you can't just rest anywhere.. like in NEVERWINTER NIGHTS...

"ooh crap, I'm bleeding to death... oooh my left kidney just flopped out... oh no! there's an ogre down the corridor... uh fuck it, i'll just sit here and sleep it off... ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ... "

also... the thing that really scares me about Diablo is the number of monsters carrying town portals...

the thing with diablo games is that once you step out of town... it's essentially doom... it's a shootem up operating under the pretense of an RPG... there are legit RPGesque progressive stats.. but that's it...
there are no random encounters... it's just kill everything that moves...
you're a good guy... no option to strike deals with monsters...
just clickety click click!!!

but it is fun...

but FALLOUT 2 is the greatest game ever...
the only other game to come close to F1or2 is the first knights of the old republic... and even then the whole darkside point attained for verbally insulting someone and light side point attained for not killing someone who might be able to help you is a little childish...

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Planescape: Torment is also brilliant. It doesn't have quite the same freedom as Fallout, which it trades in for a tighter/more linear plot, but the effort going into describing...well, everything, is just tremendous. Specific attention pointing to the flashbacks to Morte's past, and using Dhionarra's sensory stone.

NWN's execessive resting system is probably due to the fact that the spell casting mechanics don't translate well to a CRPG. If you couldn't rest fairly often, your pure wizard would end up screwed.

But regardless, the Fallout series will always hold a place of triumph in gaming history. Have you played the very first one, set before Fallout? I think its a text based game, though the name escapes me. I'll take a look.

Can't find where it was mentioned, though I think it had to do with the Red Ryder BBgun being a reference to an old game set in the fallout universe, though a few years beforehand and down in texas or something.

Like how the random characters on the valt tech logo refer to the deathstar rescue scene in ANH, for example.

Red Ryder BB guns from Wasteland (pre fallout afterthebomb RPG). If you killed kids, then you got hunted by people armed with them, and normally died in a spectacular fashion.

This of course wouldn't happen today as they'd just remove all the kids from the european version, and screw anyone looking for some tools in vault city. angry.gif

Wasteland, there you go Barend. Though I thought it was set in Texas, not Calafornia. Oh well. Now to get downloading.

On the off chance you want a legal copy (not sure if it's gone freeware yet), it's also on the interplay rpg archives, along with the original fallout and a shed load of bards tale games.

Thats neat. I didn't even think of trying to target her. I assumed that they'd just give her an AC of 999 or something.

Did she drop a Stealth boy? Always wanted one in fallout 2.

I carried her bones about for half the game because I didn't want to be a graverobber. Guess that's still better than a ghost murderer.
