It would poetic justice - though I feel that Prowse is the guy who really deserves it - he gave Vader the physicality he had in the original trilogy, and he was the guy everyone on set with him was performing to.
So, while Hayden is an insult to Shaw, he is a double insult to Prowse - not only does Prowse get even more buried by Hayden in ROTJ, he also has Hayden's stickman physique trying to be Darth Vader.

Shaw did look stockier than Hayden, though that may have been due to old age.
Yeah, it is a sad irony - Shaw was an insult to Prowse, and now Hayden insults Shaw.
