But the point is the redshirst suffer an 'unexpected' fate, not that they bring it on themselves.

Excellent game. I loved the way you brought in the trading. Trying to explain it to friends, I'd compare it to Elite and Frontier. Phillistines didn't know what they were either. *sigh*

Not sure if this is a bug or what. Sometimes, when you go into cruise mode, the "something on the radar" message will come up but nothing will appear - Hole and Eric disappear and there's just a starfield on the screen, then Eric and Hole's boredom messages start coming up again as if you were cruising normally. The only way to get out of cruise mode when this has happened is for an Innocuous Trader to show up, then when you kill them (or flee) everything is back to normal. The effect of this is that only Innocuous Traders can be hunted - and the only way to make this bug stop occuring whenever a non-innocuous-trader shows up is to revert to a saved game where it hasn't happened yet. Is there anything that can be done about this?

By the way, I love the game, especially the redshirts!

I don't know if this is classed as cheating but if you countually click on the target during the gun battle you get a "character not in room" error.

I got the same error when I got out of the lift after the first part of the battle, although this only happened once.

I got round this problem in my shooting engine by disabling the cursor for about 1/2 a second after each shot. biggrin.gif. Currently I'm reducing the accuracy of the gun wink.gif. Although its nothing like what Y-man did.

Hi,

I donīt think this is a bug because nobody else mentioned it, so itīs only my stupidity I guess... sad.gif Iīm stuck at the "draw sybols on the strange pad" part on Quorn 8. The walkthrough tells me to press a button after each symbol, but what button? On the panel I found none, and after I use the chalk on the panel I canīt go back to the cave (or anywhere). What do I do wrong?

The button is rectangular, to the left of the pad, and bears a Necurosian symbol.
As I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I realised that it could do with a lick of paint.

Amazing game, I don't know what else to say, just don't stop making them. The dream sequences and endings were really well done especially, you've got a real talent in suspense and mystique. A few bugs and suggestions, because I like to pick holes in things:

-The 'Restore Bromide's memory' and Krun scepters sidequests won't disappear from the objective list.

-The Dirty Laura's Upgrade shop shows current cargo instead of maximum cargo (which isn't as helpful).

-If you try to purchase a N/A upgrade with less than double the money the previous upgrade costed (I think) then it will say that you do not have enough money.

-The cursor and description label flicker rapidly in the 2 lever room on Thermus 8 when you put the mouse over the right-hand shield. I assume this is an object turning rapidly on and off - perhaps it could just be a 2 frame animation instead?

-After the Warhol 3 Think Tank, when the scene switched to the desert, I still had the severed hand as the cursor mode. Of course, after cycling through the modes it didn't return.

-After giving the chalk to complete the equation, in the second scene with the mad preacher, he says "You Necrons who have made your empty promises our entire lives". Should it be "your entire lives"?

-When you have to use the four consoles the second time, the text at the start says "...download one of the four equation samples you have in your mind." I'm not entirely sure, but if you are the source of the data, wouldn't it be uploading? Considering that it is referred to as uploading from then on when using the consoles.

-I've managed to make the Escape GUI unopenable by Alt+Tabbing several times.

-The Escape GUI can be accessed during the ending credits. Not that it's bad or anything, it's just a bit strange to be able to save in the credits.

-As mentioned before, trade routes can be exploited again and again, and are quite tiresome. Apart from changing the prices occasionally, you could make demand for some commodities fluctuate, or just reduce over time in reaction to overuse of the trade route. And so when I sell my 95 tonnes of armaments to the Bloody Towel, I'll get about 5 credits lest per tonne this time. This will encourage people to try new routes all the time. Also, to make the process easier, perhaps make a shortcut for trading to skip all the dialog? Something like 'add to trade list' before confirming a purchase or similar, so that it can be accessed from the Hole menu. There are lots of different possibilities, but the trade system used right now obviously isn't perfect.

Again, great game. I'm sure you know that I'd only criticise the game this much because I want it to be as good as it can be.
Thanks again,
-Sim

Sorry to ask again about this (I wouldnīt, but the game is just too fantastic to make not playing it to the end bearable), but the only symbols I see are in the second cave, where there is no pad, no button and no door... ohmy.gif

When you're in the close-up of the pad, where you can actually draw, there is a rectangular set of symbols to the left that you can click to exit.

Strange... I still canīt see them but randomly clicking around worked too (which I tried a couple of times before without success). huh.gif
Thanks anyway smile.gif

At a guess, check your monitor. My old monitor was too dark, and I missed things in dark games on occaisions.

Great game, really!
I would have liked less focus on the philosophy stuff and more adventuring, though. Space pirates doing piratey stuff in space an all that. Also, one thing that keeps annoying me with all your otherwise great games: the lack of original music! If you'd contract some guy (me for an example) to make a more professional score to the game, it would gain incredibly much in my opinion.

YZ isn't rich enough to pay people to create a score for his free games. Nice try.

Heheh. I take that back. What I meant was that I'd do it for free, and there must be others who would too.

Anyway. Was I the only one who couldn't keep myself from cheating in the casino? I kept saving and reloading while playing the game until I had over 10.000 credits. After that I never had to trade again, and I could upgrade the ship like hell. I didn't feel to good about it, and it sort of ruined the game for me a bit. I liked the feeling of living on a minimum, like a desperate space adventurer should.
