sorry for the pompas (pompass) title.... ohmy.gif

i was just wondering (after looking at readers website) how many musicians we have here, and to what extent...

I myself am the band HYPOID
[SIZE=1][which is still in the early days of success, having been on compilations and tributes with bands like; My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, KMFDM, Bile, Godhead, Chris Connelly (Ministry, Revolting Cocks, Pigface), Grim Faeries, Tub Ring - I don't know why I included that it wont impress more then 2-3 of you, if that][SIZE=1]

and on the side...
CANNIBALINGUS (my comical black/thrash metal band)
DeadfeeD (my sci-fi obssessed electronic soundscape project) blink.gif
ORC (a medieval soundtrack thingy) ph34r.gif
WASABI NOSE BLEED (a sort of sporatic hardcoresque techno/dub thing with a french guy) :yuck:

and others...

so what about the rest of you?

I am in:
  • The Lords Of Chaos (comedy/metal)
  • Grave Robbesr From Space (Comedy/Electronica)
  • Jesus H. Skullfuck (comedy/instrumental)
  • Private Pile (still in the process of forming, but it's probably going to be metal)
  • An un-named project where I will take on my first serious vocal role.

I am. not currently in a band, but jammed last week in concert with James E. Moore, of the Roman Catholic "all-star" circuit (my term. not theirs.) (James wrote "taste and see" which, I understand, is sung *somewhere* in the world on every Sunday)

I'm a singing percussionist who has played with the likes of David Haas, Gary Daigle, Bobby Fisher, and their colleages. If you've never heard of these people, that's fine. If you have, you know what fine folks they are.

My style of playing is less "thrash" and more "sensitive." I'm grateful for the opportunities music has given me, and I respect the musicians I've been fortunate enough to accompany. I would be happy to give up my day job as graphic designer to be a studio musician.

When I jam in the rumpus room downstairs, buds and I emulate the tradition of the beatles, bowie and crowded house. I've tried being in a band, "Uncle Lumpy," but it didn't work out. I play in church every week, however.

without music, there would be a lot less pleasure in our lives.

I love music, but have absolutely no talent for performing it as I don't know how to play any instruments nor can I sing. As such, I live vicariously through those who are talented. I'm off to see David Bowie on the 20th Feb. Whoo Hoo!

I play the piano an am working on the guitar. I hope to start some sort of seriously wierd band in college. We'll be punk/metal/grunge/rock/comedy/everything. See, I have mad skeelz with the piano, but I don't know what the flub I'm doing. Hopefully someone I meet will and then we can flip out and storm the world with our consistantly inconsistant off the wall ever changing song style. I'm not at the liberty to discus band names because I don't want people stealing them.

Or I'll end up getting a job washing cars and spend every moment of my life wondering why I got into the technology field in college until I commit suicide via toothpaste at age 30 in my parents' basement. Who knows?

everything you see on the LoC site is Hecc's doing. he's basically the brains of the outfit. I just play guitar. i'm like C.C. Deville (sp?).

Barend, if you wanna collaborate, you know i'm ready and willing! i know it's hard over the net, but it's possible! That's how the smash LoC hit was created.

Those pictures on the website have absolutely nothing to do with either of us. We're much dorkier than either of those guys.

Once my comp is back up and running, we'll talk more. I urge you to also check out my Acid Planet site. I will not lie - the songs contained within represent my talent - or a severe lack thereof - and nothing less. I'd like to know what you think.

I drum, and over the last year, I've been in and out of about 10 different bands, none of which have left my garage, and one whose line-up changed every five minutes.

Right now, I'm in a melodic rock covers band, a ska covers band, and a heavy metal band. I want to have a crack at some techno metal, though...

I wish I knew how to even read musical notes. And what is a wammy (sp?) bar?

And how often to strings break on the guitar. They are under repeated deflection, so you can only think they last about 2 weeks.

WAY more than two weeks (unless you REALLY abuse the high - E).

W(h)ammy bar big bar my big Bon Jovi loving guitarist uses to vibrate something, so as to make whatever note/chord/thing last longer.
