I don't really care if she was in there or not, but on the official Star Wars site it says that Mon Mothma is in episode III. I remembered reading about it there months before I saw the movie, and it is still there now. Thinking back, I don't remember seeing her (the woman they have a snapshot of, supposedly from episode III) in the film. It got me to wondering if this was something that was cut from the film, or if it was so completely in the background that it was just Lucas masterbating for connections to the OT.

She'll be showing up in a deleted scene in the DVD, where she and other Rebellion leaders meet after the declaration of the Empire. There's pics at MF.com, looks pretty cool. It was probably cut because it was too "talky" and would give people even more shit to complain about.

Her appearance would have robbed ROTS with the precious Jar Jar moment, and we couldn't have that happen. I wonder what the story is with Palpatine's bald headed lady friend, and how the Expanded Universe will explain her/him. The fat blue horned guy just seems like he likes to watch (not the Lucas character, the one on the other side of Palpatine).

Mon Mothma made the novelisation. She, Bail, Padmé and a few other Senators meet at Padmé's apartment on a few occasions to talk about ways to oppose Palpatine. Ultimately I'm sure it got cut because that would show Padmé in an empowered mode and it would undermine the damsel in distress Lucas was trying to hard to create.
