If you've ever been on these sappy, gusher forums then this should be close to your heart.

How is this possible that those sappy, gusher forums are much more popular than those here, I wonder?

And those are less gushing than ones here are bashing.

A fanboy would say that this is because all of you are insane, and can't see the beauty and ingenious-ness of Lucas's vision.

A me would say because there are more crazy people than sane ones.

I have posted on theforce.net for some time, and I believe they have a great Star Wars community. There are bashers there too, you know. But the discussion is rich because they embrace diffrent points of view.

You mean, "we're right" and "you're wrong" being different points of view,

or "from a certain point of view?"

I'd prefer the old days here where we just bashed and felt relieved,
holding out hope for a lost cause,
mostly agreed on our stand,
and talked about today's meaningful trilogy, LOTR.

Fine, "Melkor", then go there and leave us to our narrow-mindedness.

Do you like Top 40 music too?

Yeah, there are bashers at TF.N...

...the ones the gushers haven't run off yet. Or tried to lock in the sanctuary.

You see, the problem is that theforce.net bored me, and those boards have style, I have to admit. And I got a week ban for posting spoilers, despite the fact that I labeled my thread with spoiler tag.

But surely you would shed some tears after me Despondent? sad.gif

What is top 40 music?

Go the TheForce.net if you want the opinions of the Lucas' actual target audience. The place is a real eye opener.

Not certain what you mean, L. Melkor. But if I cried for every shortchanged Lucas fan, I'd be crying for you too.

I just read some posts in the Force.net. My god in heaven. I have discovered that I automatically question the intelligence of anyone who thinks that AOTC was a good movie. I found myself assuming that all the posters were children.

This probably says more about what a snob I am then anything else.

I've wandered around theforce.net - I was trying to find screencaps of some ships, and instead I found their ship database.

It is really an enlightening read - they've gone through all the comics and cartoons and novels and games and all that and have found every ship and made entries about it... so where a comic book artist has put a Star Destroyer well in the background and its pretty fuzzy on details - they've decided that the reason it looks different to their idea of a typical Star Destroyer is not because the artist put it in to flesh out the background, but because it is a different class of vessel. So you see this data entry that goes into intense detail and mentions stuff like 'honeycombing at interstices' and it turns out to be an inch-by-half inch fuzzy comic Star Destroyer from a Rogue Squadron fanfic.
Between laughter, what-the?s and how-does-anyone-find-the-time?s I realised that these guys were really beyond my experience of humanity.
