I now know why the USB to IDE adapter was on offer.
First thing to break:
Power adapter. Made in China. They make it look predda and trenda like the face of a typical alien on television. Due to the size and the ampage I knew it was going to overheat and break which it did as I had it plugged in all the time. Predicted excuse: "The mass majority don't leave their power adapter plugged in all day. They only need it for a couple of hours and thats it."
Now the moles plug has snapped off the the 2.5 inch drive adapter due to how flimsy it is.
Predicted excuse "If it doesn't work the mass majority throws the lot out and go and buy the latest adapters."
I have problems using that adapter with two Seagate drives and any drive over 130 gigabyte. I get a corrupt header and it freezes. I tried it on Windows Xtra Pretty no difference. Predicted excuse "The mass majority don't use drives over 120 gigabyte and because of the superior performance this adapter might conflict with faster drives."
I nearly inserted it upwards the wrong way leaving the bottom pins exposed due to the substandard size of the IDE connector. Predicted response: "This is a very powerful adapter, anything can happen, if damages occur then that just means you are stupid and it's your fault. The mass majority just call it a day, go to their nearest dealer and put their computer in for repair. The mass majority are very advanced! They do as they are told and don't question! They don't want to know all the specifics. If it doesn't work throw it away and get a new one."
Just my angry self conversation in quotes. I hate the image of the mass majority. I got ripped of badly at these local shops.
They get away with selling a little cube case thingy with a low end SiS desktop board as a server. As for looking into one it only has space for one hard disk, one cdrom, three pci but no Pci 64 bit slots, unbranded cheap power supply and the materials are all made out of thin bendy aluminium metal.
Lesson learn't. Don't go back there to waste time or pay them to waste my time.
I have never ever seen a quality desktop board selling in any of the local shops and no such thing as a proper server board.
