I don't have a television. It is an internal card which I brought for the computer so I can watch television. Nothing complicated. The picture is just overlaid through the graphics card or overlay support I think. It has Dolby processors onboard, external speaker plugins which I don't use, a radio input, and an infrared port for a remote control.

Ah. Well, that's interesting...

I have a screen that toggles between being a TV and being a computer monitor. Pretty neat, huh? happy.gif

Oh I know, I have seen that feature on flat screens.
I have a Hp 2065 monitor with only two inputs.

Good thing with a television tuner is that I can record and compress films.
Sadly I won't be able to use it after the analogue switchoff.

The TV might actually be older, but it's been very awesome. Great, mostly non-bleeding picture, big screen, and high quality stereo sound. So what that is has a veneer wood finish and weighs thirty pounds? tongue.gif But now it is gone.

Complaint: I have a little free time but I can't find the urge to work on my writing anymore. sad.gif

Well a laptop hard disk broke without any warning. I didn't even hear the heads clicking until putting my ear closely. Now I lost a lot of pictures from my camera and a lot of logs.

I am looking for solutions but I don't think there is one unless I find the same drive to copy the valueable stuff.

I am devasted.

QUOTE (Cyzyk @ Jul 26 2007, 06:40 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Speaking of job troubles.

I'm too damn thin. Apparently permanantly. I've been trying to eat more and work out for over a month now, haven't gained a bloody pound. I need 30 more to apply to the State Police, and I'm not getting there.

Dammit.

Guess I'm not going to do that after all. I'd better get working on figuring out what the heck to do now.

Another unused laptop. One that I found a solution on the joints on the display. I thought I was having memory problems. Guess what. Clicking noises. I opened it up and it is an IBM. The largest remaining spare drive I had left was a Hitachi 4 gigabyte. I put that in. Clicking noises too!

I have a couple of Toshiba drives that are 500 megabytes, 1.4 gigabytes and this one which is 12 gigabyte on this laptop that has been heavily used everyday since I had it second hand in 2002. They all work.

All of the broken laptop drives I have come across are mostly Hitachi or IBM.

Lesson number 2: When buying a new laptop make sure that the drive is not an IBM or Hitachi and make sure it is well ventilated.

The screw on the spindle is too stiff and judging by the scatches on the platter from the cover with no indication to not handle at the top like the other drives I say it is not worth the money or the effort. I'll store it somewhere until I get a similar drive. I will just have to cut my loses. The problem with this Toshiba laptop is that it is too bright even as set on the lowest setting of three settings.

What a shame.

I am sooooo angry!!!

I am going to turn off that Javascript for good.

After writing a message with pictures. There was a site that caused Doctor Watson to appear loosing my saved form!

It did it again on a test until I turned off Javascript!

I am not pleased after spending half an hour due to some stupid problem with javascript. Always proves to be the problem with browsers closing down due to shoddy scripts.
