I'd say "homework" is a politically incorrect term.

I just can't understand questions with paragraphs of confusing or multi meaning words when the actual numberwork is very simple. It is almost like an English lesson without the English. I call it trendy maths. Some are written by confused people with incorrect grammar.

My cupboard is in a state of clean up. I made a mess of everywhere again.
I have got to get those assignments finished off and sent. It has been a year already! My laundry keeps on getting mixed up so I have to spend a long time sorting it out in the early hours of the morning.

I have to film the internal fault of the steering trim. Even if I convince the company that there is a fault I foresee arguments with the shop owners to arrange pickup to the factory.

So, no new news, just everything made concrete, what with setting dates and stuff.

I may have missed a little here. Doctor's appointment bit I got, but what's been made concrete? What's it all about? Can't help without knowledge!

Own panic beginning to rise!!!

I, too, am wondering what you mean by free jelly, Sime. No, it's not a boobjob. Yuck.

I'm having surgery in which they're going to slice open my throat, chop my thyroid in two, and take out the half that has a giant complex growth on it. Then they're going to take it to the labs and hopefully determine whether or not it's cancerous, and if it is, I get the rest of my thyroid taken out and then I take thyroid medication the rest of my life as well as starting whatever cancer treatments; and if it's not, they close me up and yay I'm done. Either way it's gross and nerve-wracking, especially because I'm going to be missing so much school and I can't afford to fall behind because if my grades drop, my scholarships go bye-bye.
At least, if it is cancer, it's a nice, friendly, cancer which will go away when I politely ask it to with a few radiation treatments and whatever else. I'm not going to worry about that yet, anyway.

But yeah, surgery. It was a lot easier to get surgery on my knee, since that was just... a knee. Hard to mess anything up in there, and even if it did get messed up, it's still just a knee. Ah, well. I'm better now, not so panicky, just a little nervous now and then when I think about it.

sad.gif Oh dear... no wait, I should probably say that after I looked up what my dictionary says about thyroid... ah, die Schilddrüse, I see... oh dear.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you (even though that makes work kinda difficult wacko.gif)! Righto... so, where should I send those Get Well Soon Or You'll Regret It cards to when they're done? unsure.gif

When I go for the hospital appointment I fear that the only true treatment for both my eyes is a vitrectomy. Worst of all if it has to be done I might have to be awake and a risk of retinal detachment is present after which can lead to blindness or equally I'll be stuck with these progressively growing spots and strings for the rest of my life.

I don't know which is worse, cancer or vitreous detachment but what I feel is that things will never be the same after surgical treatment just like my deep cut stitched knee 12 years ago.

Complaint- Some women have no sense of humor, and this includes all the ones I've talked to lately. I'm a raving pseudointellectual with unusual views on everything. There was a time when this made one a rather desirable mark, especially in wannabe artistic circles. But that time is apparently not now.

Or, in short, Cyzyk decided to try and shuck his hermetic existance for a bit and failed. Ah well, there's always next year...

Going into hospital usually means you also get jelly for dessert so although you may be paying for your visit you can sort of think of it as free jelly.

Hope all goes well for you sweet. Will send happy thoughts across the ChefElf com-ways.

Psychy - happy thoughts going out your way as well. Can't hurt to share the love.

Varyssa - What's carnival? As in what is it celebrating?

Cyzyk - Try going out twice a year. If nothing else it will at least double your chances wink.gif

Double my chances to what, get told by girls that they really do prefer shallow and non-athletic men? That's what gets me. You'd think between being reasonably bright, reasonably active, and of average appearance I'd at least get a girl to go out to dinner with me. But no, it doesn't work that way. Argh.

Argh.

@ Supes: Carnival is gay. It's this time of the year when people of otherwise normal intellect think they have to spread cheerfulness and fun on command, preferrably in dumb costumes to underline that they are OH SO FUNNY, YAY! It heralds the Lent, from some catholic point of view. I'm not catholic, but I just have to turn on my TV and see those dumb fags everywhere and I'm not hungry anymore either... sick.gif

So, time for a complaint: my best friends played on the qualifying round for the Emergenza festival today and FAILED, because all other bands brought more fans along (of course, the audience voted - what a dumb system is that?). Not even Manowar after a kilolitre of Bud and 5 whorehouse visits would have managed to play such a crap most bands did...

Thanks for the kind wishes, guys. Surgery's at the end of March, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I'm not Catholic or any other religion/denomination that practices Lent, but I always try to see if I can do it, anyway. This year, I thought about giving up the forums for Lent, but that would be too sad! So I opted for Facebook, which I'd like to get less addicted to, anyway.

And my school's got some minor Mardi Gras/Carnivale stuff happening, too, but it's tiny. Like, Cajun food in the dining halls and giving out free beads... Just for showing up. rolleyes.gif

Right! So Carnival it's someting like our Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras - at least judging from the costumes it is. Ours is coming soon. Generally it's a pretty entertaining parade.

Cyzyk - I guess it's a point of view thing. If oyu only put yourself out there once then the chances of finding those women that would be interested in you is reduced. The more you do it the more you'll find that you actually encounter women who actually do go for you. Having said that, I'm not probably one to be giving relationship advise right now. A good history of long term relationships that seem to end up going no where does not for an expert make!
