And shouldn't the line actually go: "And so this is how Jar Jar Binks dies" ?

That would have been wonderful... and so very correct!

I might have liked Jar Jar as a 15 year old, but that was as temporary as it gets, and I soon hated him like every other self-respecting adult around! devil.gif

So this is how Jar Jar dies... with thunderous applause. And laughter. And tears of joy. And a few ILM technicians going 'but that was what our section did - I'm out of work'

Hey, I know it's hard to lose your job, but sometimes it is for the greater good! tongue.gif

Palpatine just needed to add the Rancor where his office is, a few chained slave dancers, and the Max Reebo band. He already has all the intergalactic losers assembled, and he could have undercut Jabba at his own game, "Unlimited Power!!!" belonging to him and only him. It would have made more sense bridging the PT/OT gap, with the Empire needed to be established to procure more slave girls, pizza, and other illicit stuff to make the assembled goons happy. And besides, Palpatine doesn't eat frogs.

By not even consiously trying, my blurb is better than Lucas' supposed "Vision" and many rewrites.

QUOTE (Lord Melkor @ Jul 25 2005, 07:22 PM)
True, this movie should be 3 hours and have more politics, I agree. But you all hate politics in PT, don't you?

Oh, and we see two Senators that are against Palpatine-Organa and Amidala. We don't see any Senators with other beliefs. Therefore opposition is implied.

Oh, and My Lord should be with capital letters.

No we did not see two Senators against Palpatine in the scene under discussion. Padme made an observation and Organa agreed with her aside. If Padme had made the observation to the whole assembly instead of covertly, or if she had stated to said assembly that on behalf of Naboo she opposed Palpatine's motion, then and only then opposition would have been made. She did neither. Observations (she'd have made the same type of comment if Palpatine was tying up his shoe laces - "so that's how you tie up shoe laces") in themselves do not imply opposition.

Trust me, you really are an undercase mi lord.
