Currently listening to Mike Oldfield's Light and Shade, mmmm its sweet. It has that strange feeling of sounding new and familiar at the same time.

I am officially digging "For Screening Purposes Only" by Test Icicles. It's manic, spastic UK post-hardcore in the vein of American acts like the Blood Brothers.

TRent reznor (NIN) said in an interview that he completely ripped off LOW as a structure for 'the Downward Spiral'.

"Low" is one of my favorite Bowie albums. I definitely own that one. It was one of my first Bowie albums (I have all of them).

Trent Reznor also collaborated with Bowie for one of my favorite Bowie songs, "I'm Afraid of Americans." Good song. I haven't heard his ripoff of "Low" yet, though. I bet it's not as good... tongue.gif

I love the instrumentals. I like really obscure music, and Bowie's experimental stuff was really unique at the time, and still is kickass. As much as I love Bowie's voice, I think it's just as cool that he played most of the instruments in all of those songs, as well as wrote them.

Well I didn't notice it till a short while ago! But it was a bad assumption to make considering Heccubus knows ever single band on the face of the planet. I think Heccubus should just get it over with and either apply to spin magazine or start his own music mag. I think he would be happy reviewing music for a living.

Maximo Park's "A Certain Trigger" has been in pretty constant rotation. As has "Miss Machine" by Dillinger Escape Plan and "The Mechanical Hand" by Horse The Band. Go listen to them.

Also, listen to Hella. Your life will be better if you listen to Hella.

Bummer... Were you grounded from music or some nonsense? I've had that one before. Grounded from books, too.

I've been taken in by Iron and Wine, lately. Can't elevate it to obsession status quite yet, though; I have to get to know it better, first.

The collaboration that Iron & Wine did with Calexico is quite good. I'd reccommend it.
