QUOTE (floppydisk @ Jul 20 2005, 02:52 AM)
And don't listen to Sime, Spyro is the coolest dragon around (besides Trogdor)

Spyro the Dragon involved running around finding jewelles. That's it. No other gameplay, just finding stuff. And the final boss was the most pathetic I've ever seen. He has one move, and that's to run away. I'm not joking. All he does is run away. And don't compare Spyro to the mighty Trogdor. Trogdor would step on Spyro then burninate the remains.

Well if we can stick PS1 games in here. Persona 2:Eternal punishment. I stubbornly refuse to stop bringing up this game until someone else plays it and appreciates it.

Actually, I downloaded it after you mentioned it last time, then completly forgot about it. When I'm finished with what I'm doing at the moment, I'll burn it onto cd and chuck it in my PSX.

If you're going to buy Deus Ex, do it on the PC. It's 5 bucks used, and I gaurentee your system will be able to run it if you bought it after 1999.

I just remembered....if you like to blow up your friends...Try a James Bond. Sure, it is degrading to women, but at least it has the multi-player, you know, if nothing else.....I just picked up 007: Agent Under Fire for $7.00 or somesuch amount.

Or (sorry to overrule you Dorothy), you could just pick up a copy of timesplitters 2 for about the same price, which benefits from being the development team behind the classic N64 goldeneye which EA are so keen to cash in on the memory of.

Better title overall really.

And Timesplitters 3 is even better. I'd personally recommend Burnout 3: Takedown; this game defines fun. I'd also recommend reading some reviews and top (whatever) games lists to get a better idea of what's out there.

Whatever you do, don't buy Timesplitters 2 for the single player game. Only buy it if you're going to be playing multiplayer on it, because the multiplayer is awesome.

Crash was boring and repetitive. I know it's a different console, but give me Banjo-Kazooie anyday. Far superior. And that's why I don't go Sony.

Just buy the old PS games. They play on the PS2.

Final Fantasy 7 (considered one of the greatest games of all time and also given credit for attracting the 'older' audience to games)- about 10 bucks

Final Fantasy X is very blah. It takes 4 hours of cutscenes just to get started, their "sphere grid" scheme is about as flexible as a brick wall, it recycles nearly everything from previous games, the minigames are dreadful, and the main character is whiney and has revolting fashion sense.

Timesplitters 2: The multiplayer was fun and the singleplayer story was quite good because it was so cliche and poor, but it couldn't hold me for hours on end like Perfect Dark's combat simulator or Golden Eye's multiplayer.

Timesplitters 3: More of the same praise and complaints, with less multiplayer involving bricks. Lots and lots and lots and lots of characters to choose from though. (No Jake Fenton this time, that ticked me off.)

PS2 games: MGS2 (minus Raiden), GTA3 and maybe Vice City too, Crash Bandicoot 3, Final Fantasy Anthology and Chronicles. I haven't played Kingdom Hearts but people say it's good... Same goes for Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Laughlyn, I didn't know that about TimeSplitters, I'll have to check up on that game... I picked up Goldeneye for the 64 at a garage sale this weekend, and my sister (who nabbed it from me as soon as she saw it, I didn't even get to play crying.gif ) says that it is very similar to Perfect Dark, which is an excellent game.

Oooh and I just read about a new Tomb Raider for the PS2, which is being designed by a different company (old=Core; new=I can't remember), so if you like Tomb Raider, you may want to look into that....the graphics look pretty impressive.

That's true. For a main character, he lacks strength. Several times during the story I wanted to go into the screen and kick his butt. And he has a very stupid name, too.
But I thought the rest of the game was very good overall. Maybe it is just me, that I'm a sucker for Final Fantasy games.

Oh, and Slade has heard right about Kingdom Hearts. If you enjoy FF, you will enjoy this one.

Is FFX the one with that power ball sport, where you float around in water? I've never played a game with such painful game play mechanics, it hurt my head!
