Sarcasm aside...
Mickey Suttle aka "SuperShadow" is the biggest hoaxer in the Star Wars online community, period.
The only legit information on his site is stolen from legit sites, like TFN, MillenniumFalcon.com, StarWars databank & Hyperspace, digitalbits.com, etc. The rest he makes up, plain and simple. Rather than being a good site for rumors and official information, it was basically a site full of stuff this guy made up, plus rumors stolen from other sites and claimed as info he got directly from Lucas.
He's been caught in lies before. He claims too much unbelievable crap to be a reliable source. For example he claimed that he helped write and edit the prequels, even though he had no credit anywhere. He claims he had cameos in all three prequels and appeared as a character named "Nebar Foxis" which doesn't exist. Yes he claims to have super model girlfriends, puts words into Lucas's mouth in fake interviews (and alternately claims Lucas as his close personal friend or makes bad jokes about his appearance). He claims to have invented the idea of midichlorians!
To bait people, he of course says the PT is superior to the classic trilogy, etc. Whenever people send him letters (notice he only posts the positive ones that suck up to him and his site) he constantly says "this idea will be forwarded to Lucas.."). Newsflash!
None of these ideas will be forwarded to Lucas, as if Lucas (or rather his army of secretaries) would even care! ;P
The pictures of "hot women" on his site are copied from other sites. One of the fashion models he claimed was his girlfriend was identified by some SS detractors and she publically disavowed ever having met Mr. Suttle. I could put up a website right now and slap on a picture of a few models or porn stars and claim I was dating them too. Would that prove anything? Only that I was a sad sack...! That's another thing, he constantly talks about what a strong Christian he is, and then also talks about how he's constantly "scoring" with women. Isn't that some kind of contradiction? But like his alternate worship/bashing of Lucas it's all part of the paradox that is SS.
You can read the article about supershadow on wikipedia.com if it's still up, and other sites exposing his nonesense. Yet people still visit his site and believe him. Check some of his old entries from way back or his old "scripts." He would claim errors were because of "revisions." Yeah right...
It might have been possible to believe this guy's crap back in 1998, but now? Only the most gullible who haven't visited any other site to check his "facts" should see that, I would think. After Episode II it became painfully obvious he was lying through his teeth. If it was all just a "joke" to make fun of obsessed fans, he has yet to admit this publically. His site is still up and he still claims he'll be writing and creating Episodes 7-12 with the help of his fans (ha!).
Anyway, enough about this guy...
The "kyber crystal" (one of many possible spellings) was in early script drafts of the original Star Wars, but deleted before the novelisation and film. Alan Dean Foster ghostwrote Lucas's Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker in 1976 (since retitled "Star Wars: A New Hope" later of course, to reflect the modification to the opening crawl in 1981 theatrical re-release). ADF also wrote the first EU novel (1979?) titled "Splinter of the Mind's Eye" using some unused concepts like the Kyber crystal into a new story, that was completely ignored by ESB and ROTJ later. It never really comes up again though I'm told some story later in the EU had Luke using the kyber crystal in a lightsaber or something like that just for fun. Even in the original stories, Palpatine never had the Kyber crystal. It was basically the substitute for the Death Star plans OR Vader was after it in the OT era but Luke, Leia and some old Lady got to it first.
They thought the Kyber crystal would magnify the user's force powers, but in reality it was (a la Mel Brooks's Space Balls) just a psychological thing. The real power was in the person, the crystal just bounced it off or something. Not explained too well. Anyway, if SS's bogus claim were correct, it would conflict with the only official story of the Kyber crystal that exists. While an interesting idea, it is just another of his fantasies.
