It wasn't stupid then. It was the Benchmark for SF/Fantasy. ESB raised the bar, and from then on you have the right to be disappointed.

But electing a 14 years old girl isn't stupid, because, Padme still stupid in the next movies, if they could elect a 14 years old intelligent girl I would understand

If you're asking do I think the Beatles' prolific musical influence will outlast the Rolling Stones', I would answer undoubtedly.
Stupid 18-year old senators be damned. Star Wars was the greatest film of the genre to come along in a long time, and it had something for everyone. I didn't know Leia was eighteen per se, I had an idea Solo was thirty or so. But "Three young actors" is what gave title to zeal.
