Call me crazy, but it reminded me of Ancient Roman history. It really did. Maybe it's just Palpy's plot, but it seemed like how the Roman empire was created.

Indeed, Palpatine was based on people like Napoleon, Hitler, and Cezar. I wish the politics scenes were not cut from ROTS! dry.gif

Hitler? I thought he was based on the devil - garden of eden anyone?? - basted in tobasco and turned twice daily. That's how fried gold he was.

The problem with the PT is that it gives us a lot of weak and meaningless sub plots and it can't make any of them work. The political intrigue attempts are perhaps the biggest failure, but there's also the love plot between Ani and Paddy, and the stupid plot of the Jedi losing their powers which is never resolved.

Any of these plots could have been an interesting facet of the story if they were fleshed out and done properly.
