Missle Command for the Atari 2600 I think!

Man that game was fun. The first game I remember actually enjoying on an addictive, childhood defining level was undoubtedly the first Super Mario Brothers game for the NES. After that, it was Rygar, Bionic Commando, Contra, etc....

My flat-mate can complete Super Mario Bros in something like 6 minutes.

I think that's a couple of minutes shy of the world record (yes, there is one!), but pretty impressive nonetheless.

I don't like Mario. Too easy to fall in the pits. I think that platformers really need a double jump feature or them become frustrating.

I think that you just suck. tongue.gif

Ever tried a running jump? Back in the day, we held down a button to run, we didn't push a joystick harder!

That is one super-ugly house. I've noticed the skull and mat. Is it evil?

I know this is off topic, but I remembered why I provided contradictory information. One was the first video game that I played on a TV, one was the first I owned. And finally, the first thing resembling a video game, the USS Constitution vs. the HMS Guerriere, a game which can still be played at the USS Constitution museum, across the street from where I used to live. Which was a few steps away from the world's oldest commisioned warship (208 years old). It is also the game that Sid Meyer's Pirates stole the Ship-to-Ship battles from.

Sweeet! I was there when I went to Boston last summer! The game was indeed very fun, and the tour of the ship was nice too.

first game I ever played?..or the first game I remember playing?...tough one to decide upon either way.

I know it will be Atari..thats for sure.

Hmmm...my dad bought an Atari for $100.00 at Eckerd Drugs,.that was in august of 1981...back then,.Pac-Man was all the craze.

I told my dad to buy Pac-Man too, cause I wasnt sure if the Atari came with a game or not...we took it home, only to find out that Atari came with Combat inside.

I would have to say Pac-Man was the first game I played..remember playing..etc.

I remember playing it,.even back then,.thinking that it was kinda weird playing the game, and not having any way to pause the game if the phone rang,.someone was at the door, etc.

playing pac-man back then..either required someone else on standby to take the control when you wanted to go to the bathroom...raid the fridge,..etc.

if you stopped playing for 5 seconds,..those ghosts would corner you and start munching on your ass in no time.

then some smart company called Nintendo decided to invent pause features on their controllers,..via the start button.

Little do most people know,..some atari games do have pause features though...a game called burgertime for atari 2600 has it...by using the a/b switches in the back,.causes the game to pause.

I LOVE PAPERBOY...too bad the controls suck for it,..that diagonal scroll crap doesnt mean that the control has to suck along with it....someone needs to remake this game....heck,.maybe rockstar can throw in a sort of "paperboy" mini-game in GTA:4...a mode, if you will, that will allow your character to jump on a bike,..and start throwing newspapers for points,..that would be sweet,...maybe hit a few prostitutes in the head with the chunky sunday edition. hee hee
