What was the first game you ever played?

For me it was either Rolling Ronnie (some platformer) or some puzzle game with a theme about finding treasure. Both were on PC, and you've probably never heard of either.

Pong was the first game I played. However, the first multi-game system I had was the Sinclair Spectrum, which was released in the UK in the 80's. I just looked up the specs: 3.54 MHz processor with 16K of RAM. The games came on cassette tapes, and there were a few games per tape. Playing the 1st game on each tape was easy, but you had to fast-forward to the spot where the 2nd or 3rd game started in order to play those, which involved a lot of trial-and-error before we marked off the spots.

First game I played, some distant 22 years ago, was a game called Chuckie Egg on the Zx Spectrum 48k... rolleyes.gif

Well, my moneys on one of the Lemmings games. You still can't beat Lemmings, to be fair. Although considering that I've had access to computery goodness since I was five, I could well be wrong.

I loved my 48k Spectrum. I think the first game I had for that was a Horace Goes Skiing/Harrier Attack double cassette.

Hard to tell. I know that my dad had a Commadore 64 before I started school. I can remember watching him play Ghostbusters on it. But I have no idea what the first game I played was. May have been Ghostbusters, or Bubble Bobble, or Pitfall, or Impossible Mission or any of a number of C64 games.

What I find quite intersting about this thread is that it really shows the age of the users.

Pong, I had this multi-pong game machine. Groovyness. I think it's still here somewhere inside boxes.

Might have to dig that one up again.

Asteroids on Atari... either that or Missile Command - but definitely the Atari.
