A lot of Lucus' portrayals in the last three films have been stereotypes. I admit that the original three didn't make any racial stereotyping all that blatant, and you kind of had to be looking for it to see it in a lot of places. This is absurd. You're simply reading way too much into what you see. You have to be looking for this stuff before you actually notice it. This movie doesn't make people racists if they watch it. Just because there are some coincidences doesn't mean anything. The black riders from LOTR were black. Why aren't you ripping Peter Jackson to pieces for holding back the black community?

Regarding people getting mad at 'black' being a sign of evil- Black people are not black, they're brown, so it's not even an issue.

People do rip on TOLKEIN for being a racist since he made dark people the evil people. Jackson smoothed this over by not talking about 'dark people' in the script and only showing one bad black guy, the rest of the 'evil' men were covered in face cloth so you really could'nt make out their skin color.

Lucas is not a racist. He's many things, but not a nazi.

Why does Lando being played by a black actor mean he should not be double crossing criminal type? What if Lando was white? Do you think the script would have changed?

And how come Mace Windu isn't a slimmy creature too?

I do agree w/ the asian steriotypes though. I thought people would have been mad, I guess not though...

So all the aliens were these racial stereotypes: Lando Calrissian was the black, double-crossing scumbag, Chewbacca a kind of faithful Polish gunner type and so on. But it’s so much more blatant in The Phantom Menace. The Trade Federation are obviously Japanese – the “Yellow Peril” that Americans are so frightened of. Then there’s the money-grabbing salesman with this hooked nose – evidently Jewish – and Jar Jar Binks is just this comedy gay Jamaican
