Here's some of the things that annoy me when watching Episode III:
(Some of them are already in the Nitpicker's Guide).

- the opening crawl when the Sith Lord is referred to as "Count Dooku." Why not call him Darth Tyranus? It took Lucas 2 hours to finally reveal Dooku's Sith name in Episode II. And it's not used once in Ep. III.
- "This is where the fun begins." Why Lucas insists on recycling lines from the classic trilogy is beyond me. I guess it's just lazy screenwriting. This is Han Solo's line from "A New Hope." Of course, Anakin stole "Trust me" from Han in AOTC. So I guess it's to be expected.
- Jedi/Clone pilots vs. Vulture droid fighters. Should have been a lot longer. And it is in the original screenplay. In the film, we see the vulter droids attack, a few clone fighters explode, missiles are fired and that's it. Then enter the buzz droids. Should have been a lot more climatic.
- "flying is for droids." Who know where Obi-Wan's over night hatred of flying came from. I didn't hear him complain in Ep. IV. But in the prequels we get "This is why I hate flying" and other lame references to this character quirk.

- Neimoidian pilot: "Two Jedi have landed in the main hangar bay." Gone is the annoying Asian accent. Replaced with an almost more annoying voice.
- Anakin jumping in out of the elevator. Sort of a pointless sequence. I guess he was just showing off. Funny he ended up in exactly the same spot as before.
- The sound of sand people yelling after Palpatine says "Remember what you told me, about your mother and the sand people." Unnecessary audio call back to Ep II. I think everyone knows who the sand people are, after seeing them in Episodes I, II and IV.
- Padme to Anakin about there baby: "I doubt the Queen will allow me to continue to serve in the Senate." So female Senators aren't allowed to have babies? Or does the Queen have something against stay at home Mothers.
- Yoda's coldhearted advice to Anakin: "Rejoice for those around you who transform into the force. Mourn them do not, miss them do not." Preaching indifference.

- "I'll go, good relations with the wookies I have." This gets an unintentional laugh every time I see it in the theater. It's such a goofy line. I guess Yoda hangs out with a lot of wookies in his down time.
- Palpatine on Darth Plageus: "He could use the force to manipulate the midichlorians to create life." Could have easily been cut from the film. Annoying because it once again turns the force into blood and DNA. And it implies that Sidious created Palpatine in a lab 25 years before.
- The wookie Tarzan yell. One of the cheesiest parts of Ep. VI returns here.
- The lizard boga: Actually the lizard was pretty well done. And it was bizarre seeing Obi-Wan ride on it. But the iguana's annoying "yelp, yelp" could have easily been removed from the soundtrack. It's just obnoxious.

- 3PO suddenly entering at the end of Padme/Anakin's silent sequence before the Jedi confront Palpatine. Talk about ruining the moment!
- Agen Kolar, Kit Fisto & Saesee Tiin: Gone in 60 seconds. I could see Sidious killing Agen and Saesee quickly. But his duel with Kit and Mace should have been a little longer. I think the Jed v. Sidious duel was so bad because it's one of the few where Steven Spielberg wans't involved. (He helped storyboard the Grievous/Obi-Wan, Yoda/Sidious and Obi-Wan/Anakin duels).
- trying to arrest a Sith Lord! Why not kill him? Did anyone talk about arresting Vader or Palpatine during the original trilogy? No, it was killed of be killed.
- Palpatine's goofy facial expresions during the Mace duel. Have to agree with that. He just looks ridiculous.
- Palpatine turning into the Gollom and shouting "No, no... you will die!" Not exactly scary, not really comedic. Just too bizarre for words.

- Anakin's split second flip flop after Mace's death: "What have I done?" "Join the dark side." "I will do whatever you ask." I think Lucas was too lazy to write more lines for Anakin. He could have easily had Anakin say "I can't join you." And then cut to Yoda sensing the death of Mace and then go back to Anakin & Palpatine. And have Sidious have to work some more to turn Anakin to the dark side. Instead, we Anakin go from being conflicted to suddenly being a serial killer.
- the accent of the youngling. "Master Skywalker, what are we gonna do?" I guess it's Australian. It just doesn't sound right.
- The Zett Jukassa scene. Lucas's son makes a cameo. Only throwaway scene in the last act of the film.
- the 20 second security recording: Obi-Wan gets to see about 5 seconds of Anakin battling some Jedi and then a few lines of him professing his devotion to Darth Sidious. And then says "I can't watch anymore." He didn't watch anything! Originally in the screenplay we were supposed to see Anakin killing several Jedi. Then, Darth Sidious enters and exchanges several lines with his new apprentice.

- "She has lost the will to live." Padme's sudden death would be believable if the medical droid blamed it on her injuries from being force choked coupled with the pain of child labor. (Lots of women die during childbirth). But instead we get this "lost the will to live" b.s. Totally goes against Padme's strong character she showed in Ep I and II. Plus, she had lots to live for: the twins, to join the future rebellion against the Empire, to see if Anakin could be turned back to the good side, etc...
- The Frankenstein walk. Mentioned many times. I never thought Vader could look silly, but he does here. Plus, having him scream "No!!!" once again shows Lucas lazy screenwriting. Recycling another line from the original trilogy.

Don't get me wrong, "Revenge of the Sith" is an enjoyable film. But really the only thing that works about it is the action sequences. The plot twists are unbelievable and much of the dialogue is laughable. The acting is much improved. Some how the actors were able to make it work this time. (I think thanks to the dialogue coach).

I think in a year or so, people will see Ep III for what it is. A good summer popcorn movie.

I watched it twice. Man, the love scenes tortured me the second time.
Sorry, you won't be seeing a smartass sig here. Try with the next poster.

Almost. I won't disclose the actual figure but let's just say that it's fewer than 6 and more than 4.

It was strictly for research purposes though. rolleyes.gif

Seen it once. Too many other films out there to watch.

BTW, did Spielberg really storyboard the scenes? I never heard that before.
