My father, who posts here on occasion as "Cemetery Guy", was doing a little web surfing the other day and came across an ancestry website that had a trivia question. "Which pop diva is related to Madonna?" My dad guessed Celine Dion and it turned out that he was right. It then went on to show the names of their common ancestors, the couple they were both descended from.

It just so happens that my father is one of the world's foremost experts on French Canadian genealogy and Madonna's mother happened to be French Canadian. What's more is that he recognized the common ancestors shared by Madonna and Celine. It turns out they are my common ancestors as well.

He printed out the tree to show me and it turns out that I am related to both of them as well (though a little more closely to Ms. Dion. My father informed me that even though we are related I don't have to worry about the closeness of the relationship ruining my dreams of one day marrying one of those pop divas.

The dream remains alive!

Hey now, if anyone is marrying Madonna, it's me. Although I have to say I'd prefer Kylie...or better yet Danni Minogue...

I grew up watching Danni Minogue on Young Talent Time. After Kylie began making it big on Neighbours she came on to YTT and did a duet with Danni. They sang Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves.

Not long after that Kylie got her recording contract and the rest is history
