Today there were Supreme Court rulings on several things, but there's one that I want to discuss specifically.

If a large company like Wal-Mart wants a certian piece of land, they go to the city and say "Evict these people from this piece of land, I wanna put a store there". The city evicts whoever's living there so Wal-Mart can get their grubby hands on that piece of land.

Recently it was challenged and went to the Supreme Court. Guess what? The SC ruled in favor of this law, so it stays. If that isn't the biggest piece of bullshit I've ever heard then you can cut off my balls and feed them to your cat.

Seriously, doesn't anyone else see that there's something wrong with this law? I'm thinking about writing a letter to someone (which I never do). I just don't know who to write to about this.

Don't shop there. Spend more, shop at locally-owned stores only.

yeah, i heard about this law... it's gotta make you laugh...

i mean, they don't even pretend to like us anymore do they.
the rich and powerful that is...

you hear about all these people in poor neighbourhoods gunning each other down, when they should get toghether and march the fuck up to the supreme court with their guns and level the fucking place.

the kids who buy guns from walmart should be shooting up wealmart! not their school...

the black uzi carrying homey gangstas of LA should drive down to KKK town and gun thos biggot fuckers down instead of each other...

that's the real problem with the US, all the fire power, and no direction.

that law is the most fucked up thing i have ever heard.

it was one thing when the government was pushing us around and forcing us to move, but franchises?!?

I AM NOT TAKING A BULLET FOR McDONALDS, WALMART, K-MART, KFC, OR NEVERLAND OR ANYOTHER RICH ASSHOLE AND NIETHER SHOULD ANYONE ELSE...

i shit you not, if people came to my house delivering that news i'd snap their neck. you wanna move me... move me to jail, where no one pretends you are free!!!

"All you people up there in City Hall, You're fuckin' it up for the people that's in the streets. This is a song for the people in the streets, Not the people City Hall.
All you motherfuckers in the streets it's time to rise up, Come along children and fuckin' rise!"

The faster it goes down hill, the faster the sensible will get pissed off enough to do something about it. But I'd always rather see things get better than worse. But there comes a time when the buildings foundations start to rot and you need to level the entire thing to fix it. I hope I don't need to go rent the wrecking ball though. I could probably pull off some direction, it would just be getting people to listen...

The reason the people havn't banded together yet is because the government uses racism to keep the oppressed classes fighting eachother.

We blame the Mexicans for taking our jobs instead of the rich people growing richer off the sweat of migrant workers.

We blame blacks for taking welfare money instead of blaming the racist bourgeois who force many poor black families onto welfare.

We blame foreigners when the wealthy capitalists in our own country send jobs to foreigners.

Blacks blame whites for being racist and oppressing them.

Racism is merely a tool of the oppressing class and it is their most terrible and divisive tool.

Imagine if during the civil war the poor white folks in the North and South had realized that they lived no better than black slaves! The civil war would REALLY have ended slavery. The only effort in modern times to create a united multi racial socialist revolution was made by the Black Panther Liberation Party. And the government drowned them in propaganda so that even today they are regarded as black racists.

Right on, brother. I nod in agreement as I read. Except I wouldn't call them an "oppressing class" so much as "a bunch of vacuous yet sly idiots who don't really understand how the world works because they have more money than god and see anyone poorer than them as something to be exploited for reasons of natural selection".

'Lefty' doesn't automatically mean 'Liberal'. I'm as left-wing as they come and I hate the Liberals, they suck. Liberal in the US these days just means pretty much anyone who's opposed to Bush.

Does anyone actually know what the law is? Like, for example, who is the government evicting? Can they evict, say, a guy who owns a house on that piece of land? Because that sounds crazy. And why did the Supreme Court make the decision it made? Presumably they had some reason or supposed rationale, however dubious.

I don't know the details about the law, I just know the basics. It allows big companies like Wal-Mart (who is a HUGE offender of this law) to come in and tell the govt to evict anyone that lives on a property that they want to build a store on. I don't know why the court made their decision, but I'd sure like to know.

Edit: Found a story on it. Apparently they're doing this because the things they build on the siezed (more like stolen) property are generating jobs and tax revenue.
