I'm just giving the facts my good man smile.gif

Yep. And clearly too, I would think.

Just that I don't really pay that much attention to politics. Only the minimum amount needed, I guess. smile.gif

Renegades facts always seem to be directly from Fox News, it seems...

While it would kick ass if all liberals were radicals, that's not the case at all. Might I remind the forum goers that putting words into someone's mouth is rather unbecomming, and please, lets end this silly lefty/righty liberal/conservative thing. Extreme conservatives are called reactionaries, not radicals.

So, speaking of corruption, place your bets on who Bush nominates to replace Sandra Day O'Connor!

Do you honestly read posts or have reading comprehension?

Let me say this for the last time so you can MAYBE get it right

The definiton of a lefty is Liberal OR Radical. The definition of a righty is Conservative OR Reactionary.

And no i don't watch fox news unless i'm bored or seeking some blatent funny biasness.. I usually watch MSNBC primarily Hardball. I know people still can't get this through there heads since they don't read my posts, but I actually AM a democrat and quiet liberal..

Do you ever post anything meaningfull or do you just act like an ass all the time? Don't you have some Michael Moore movie to be watching at this time anyway? You're the type of person who makes me wanna switch parties and donate $2000 to Bush.

Why would I bother attempting to make you see my viewpoint, which I doubt you ever will do, when merely acting "like an ass" seems to get on your goat so badly?

Renegade: I read every single post you make, and you come off as quite the opposite of every liberal I've ever met.

Let me say this once and for all so we can all get it right.

A "lefty" by this definition is one who follows the ideology of the political left. These people favor government intervention when it comes to social and economic programs to favor those they feel are in need. They decide who is in need by observing how different groups are treated differently and attempting to rectify this if it is unfair. I.e. reducing poverty by creating jobs and assisting people who fall below the poverty line by supplying them with a small amount of money with which to buy food, and protecting small businesses from the encroachment by corporations that due to their size can force these other people out of business. People on the extreme end of this ideology are called radicals, and they demand very swift change and normally ideologies that are considered disjarring to the public, like the socialist mantra of complete economic equality and abolition of the income gap.

A "righty" by the definition is someone who is politically conservative. He or she favors small gradual changes so as not to upset the fragile human social structure. They favor very little government intervention in the economy, believing that the economy needs its ups and downs, rich and poor, in order to remain stable and survive. Business is governed by the market, not the government. (Using my previous analogy big businesses have the right to triumph over smaller ones because they can offer more lucrative prospects to the consumer.) Socially, conservatives often favor tradition over what some might deem progress, as they see it as unneccesary upheval. The extreme right is known as reactionary, and often sheds the slow change approach in favor of immediate return to a tradition based past.

People in the middle are called moderates or centerists. They mix and match the two opposing philosophies because neither suits them right.

People can be anywhere on the economic and social spectrum, and some people can agree with one issue with a person of an opposite party and disagree with another. It's not a black and white thing.

And people, please stay civil and don't insult one another. *Brandishes the mod-stick.*

Well thats cause most of the things I'm arguing are the for sake of arguing smile.gif. I don't ACTUALLY agree with a lot of things im saying, but my problem is that I don't really disrespect or think the other side is "evil". I'm pro choice, but I think pro lifers do have a legitimate argument that isn't just based on some random bible thump. I'm against capital punishment but I don't think people who support it are "racists". I'm for gay marriage but I don't think its completely illegitimate to argue that gay marriage should not be allowed. I've been against the War in Iraq (though not gun hoe against) but it's not because I think its imperialism or that Bush wants to end Muslims as we know it. On domestic issues I'm pretty much on the left on most issues, but foreign affairs I tend to be moderate and don't think America is the devil incarnate.

And in terms of the left/right thing, you just said what I said but in more detail smile.gif

I've seen this happen with my own two eyes.

When I was little I used to live with my grandma in a house right next to the interstate highway. Our nieghbors from across the street were very nice, one of them being my old babysitter. Now I live in a nice suburban area a few miles from it. It was nice. But then... just two years after my grandma died and another family moved into her house, the people across the street were all evicted from their houses so the government could demolish them and widen the road to accompany the growing traffic problems. I don't know where they live now, but I haven't seen them since. It makes me sad.
