unfortuantley, one of those things that groening designed was a robotic body designed to alleviate people who had eaten themselves and miraculously survived, and it was shaped like 'snake' from the simpsons, and the left eye also worked as a projector with which barend could could project the incriminating tape of him eating himself, but was convinient because as it projected out of the eye barend was also able to watch it....
also the left index finger was a flamethrower...
(this was unfortunate only for george lucas who was torched)
