Doctor Zhivago is one of my favorite films. Big, sweeping canvas, and characters you see interact over decades, and grow to feel for. Alec Guinness' role is gravy.

Anyway, that was just ONE movie, and SO MUCH Happened. LOTR shows how a rapt audience will follow for a saga for half a day's time, even when the most fervent KNOW the outcome.

Every keystroke criticizing Lucas is fallen fruit from his lost crop.
