Contradiction in the Jedi Organization?

But the Jedi organization prefer to spot children force sensitive from people not force sensitive (or either they would be Jedi's) but then again, why children would be force sensitive if the parents are not? Even Qui Gon Jin asked who was Anakin's father, clearly stating the parents are important
(funny he did not remember to test Anakin's mother for the count of midiclorians to see if she was strong with the force, it seems only through male's the force sensitive stuff goes to the children, does the force or the midiclorians thing reside in male sperm?)
What do you think?

I liked the OT explanation; much better than Lucas deciding to pull interesting words out of an elementary biology text.

For me this issue is a contradiction, and in the OT there is never a reference that Jedi's can't have children. Well anyway, I just found it was an interesting contradiction that I never seen stated.
Besides If a child out of nothing has force powers, Then Luke & Leia would never be the "last hope", since they could guide luke to spot another child force sensitive somewhere in the galaxy (another inconsistence between PT & OT?)

It's just ridiculous, all these questions that have to be asked after watching these movies.
I think a lot of the clowns on this forum could have made a better prequel trilogy given the resources (the original trilogy and a bajillion dollars).
It's like he didn't even watch his own movies sometimes.

I just gave you the answers. PT doesn`t explain the background extensively, but we can think for ourselves, right?

amen to that. there isnt enough time to give answers to every little background detail. the movies isnt about the jedi order, its about specific jedi. just because the answer arent dangled in front of your face doesnt mean lucas is a moron.

i guess we all just assumed that children where also part of that ban...
but maybe you're right... maybe they're allowed to have children, just not allowed to do anything that leads to having children...

You can have sex with someone without love being involved. I can attest to that.

but being free of attachments, and starting up a franchise of junior jedis sired throughout the galaxy pretty much feel like related subject matter to me...

It is true that the Orthodox church for instance does not allow theis preists to have a family (for a small, silly reason that originated in the middle ages). These same preists however are encouraged to love every member of their parish.
Having the Jedi order protecting the galaxy... you COULD have them in permanent celibacy(though that doesn't make it a good ideea), but actually TEACHING the Jedi as to stay away from loving their closed ones.. now that's a good one! Why in the world are they even protecting the damn Republic if there isn't anything dear to them there:
"The Sith Lords have overtaken the Republic !"
Jedi: " Hmm,yeah.. that's interesting, what else is on TV ?"
