When say "church", I mean THE church, with a capital C. The perspective and the speech the Church delivers on the whole stuff with the use of condoms, sex, abortions and related matters just irritates me.

Besides that, I also don't believe in god(s).

Sweet Jesus! Homosexuality compared to retardation????
How could someone with such a supposed open heart have such a closed mind?
Give me one reason why homosexuality, bisexuality, consensual orgies ... are in any way bad.
One, just one, and don't pull the old "because God says so" argument. In the bible God says a lot of things which most christians nowadays do not follow, the main things however he seems unwavering about and provides backup reasons. Sexual acts that differ from the Missionary postion are of the former, not the latter.
Seriously dude. Give me one reason .... I'm waiting ....

So... people that are infertile can't have sex? People that are too old to have kids can't have sex? Women are no longer allowed to perform lesbian acts? I don't often call people stupid, unless they are a right wing christian, inwhich case it tends to flow quite freely.

If I'd got here earlier, what you'd have got was a close facsimilie of Lecters post. You heard the old adage from plane-phobics? "If God had meant us to fly, he'd have given us wings"? But I defy anyone to dispute the usefulness of planes. Maybe God didn't intend us to create buildings, use tools, or even build churches in his name (maybe he's a modest deity). But we've done all of it, indeed at the expense of the Earth. Is that good? More than likely not. Have we done it anyway? Yes. Why? We're human.

I'd like to add more, but that's enough for now.

first of all, what i meant in that they are similar, is that its a birth defect. those were the words i was looking for. i was just saying that true homosexuality is a result of a birth defect.

I suspected as much that you were going to come up with explanation like that.
However, please read my post again. It is not the scientific argument that I refuted, it is your attitude. The attitude you show by chosing this particular comparison.

I don't know but you seem to have a problem with your own language. Do you realise that words can hurt, and that they can hurt a lot? You may have well meant a very innocent thing, but as a result you come across as a narrow minded hyper-conservative. Even above you did not choose words like "genetically determined", which has really a neutral register, you chose "defect", which has a distinct negative connotations.

Again - lots and lots of people are homosexuals. They are artists, managers, hairdressers, writers, teachers, they lead a normal life. Please understand that you have no right to call these people "defective".

I am very prone to depressions. It could be that it is genetic. Am I defctive?

I don't want to have kids. It is not normal, is it? It could be a result of my faulty genes. Am I defective?

Please, please try to be more careful with words in future.

...up until he found out for sure he was gay, my cousin did not lead a normal life. never had a girlfriend, felt constantly out of the crowd, had no friends. obviously things that derive from a birth defect.

Just because you're different doesn't mean that something is wrong with you. I've had very few friends, never had a girlfriend, and have never felt in with a crowd, but I'm not gay, nor do I have any sort of mental defect. I'm just not like most other people, and that makes them uncomfortable around me and ergo me around them. There's an entire personality to take into effect.

And indeed, that was a dreadfully poor choice of words. You were comparing homosexuality with a disease, which is rather silly and also insulting. "Damn it Otto, you have Lupis!" comes to mind, but this is more like "Damn it Otto, you refuse to wear anything but beige!" It doesn't harm anyone, the only thing saying it's bad/"morally wrong" are two dodgy passages in The Bible by authors that can't really be trusted.

Firstly, good to see another fan of the "Dammit Otto you have lupis" comedian. That guy rules ... it's good to see someone else out there get's a kick out of him. My favourite bit is his complaint about bakery procedure "I don't need a reciept when I buy a donut, I give you a dollar, you give me the donut, end of transaction."

Secondly, Raven just come right out with it dude. YOU ARE A HOMOPHOBE. I don't know what the root cause is but I think it's safe to say that it revolves around a tingly feeling you experienced last time you saw Brad Pitt on the cover of GQ. No stress dude, just deal with it.
The only people who get so stressed about gay people are those that seem to have some other agenda. I'm not gay but I say live and let live, what harm is it doing ... fuck all, so where's the problem.
I am not attracted to the elderly, but does that give me the right to limit their freedom to shag like crazy, hell no.
If God had wanted infertile couples to fuck he would have made them fertile right? That's the crux of your argument. What a load of bull shit, you small minded scared little man

Back the fuck up off him, it's like 6 on 1 here. He made a stupid comment, people pointed it out. You're just over doing it now.

He thing's fags are gross, big deal. I see creepy young gay men every day. I think they're gross.

Why can't people just dislike something nowadays. Why does there always have to be this hidden reason behind everything. If you don't like gays for whatever reasons you're either

1)Nazi
2)Gay yourself
3)Narrow minded
4)Scared of them

Give me a break. If find them creepy (look, walk, act) End of story.

If it wasn't for the fact that your avatar is that cute girl from survivor I would be pissed. There's nothing wrong with having a different viewpoint, it's when that viewpoint is thrust upon someone else that I think we have a right to get a little pissy

Gay people have fewer rights, higher levels of stress, constant hassles, all because of bigots like Raven. Now, that doesn't mean that we all need to love each other and hug and agree and stop thinking ... it just means that comments such as "fags are gross" or that gays are "creepy" are perhaps not pleasant.

We don't need to all agree but we do need to get along, it's called a society and it seems to have the odd benefit.

Everyone has to ask himself (or herself) this question:

If God created us, what created him?

And answer it.
Sorry, you won't be seeing a smartass sig here. Try with the next poster.
