Anyone else thing the medical droid in ROTS looked like utter crap and completely unrealistic. Why not a 2-1B? Or at least some customized version of a 2-1B that maybe had more functional hands so as not to drop Luke and Leia?

Another nit-pick, but God that droid really bugged the hell out of me.

And it can't be said that the 2-1B model has not been invented yet, because one of the droids that treats Anakin after his little trip to Mustafar is 2-1B.

I agree. That Droid, not to mention the 'Rosie the Robot' maternity driod were a slap in the face. It's just so not 'Star Wars'.

Why couldn't it just be a real person delivering the babies? That makes sense, right? Why trust a droid with rickety arms to hold your newborn?

I agree! It would be such a waste of perfectly good rendering power!

Yes! I've finally found a little corner of the internet where sanity prevails!

This robot looked like "Rosie" from the Jettsons, and it annoyed the heck out of me. Why, Lucas, why couldn't a human just deliever the kids?!

The annoying Medical "UUMPHA" Droid was there because Lucas probably teamed up with Raytheon to make a Star Wars maternity set coming soon to a hospital near you, along with the Darth Vader ROTS Prostate exam centre "NOOOO!!!!" for the boys.....

Someone has to start a petition to put that droid OUT of the movie... but I won't be that person.

There's a robot that looks like Roise the robot from the Jettsons?

Is it just me, or is this getting stupider every second? Personally, I can't wait till I get Episode III on video and can get this madness over with.

We could get George to render us a CGI protest droid.

No, the droid was not as bad ass as 2-1B, but would you want your child delivered by something that looked like that? I think that in terms of droids being designed for a particular job, that is probably what a maternity droid would look like, rather than something like EV-9D9.

However, the question again was, why couldn't a human deliver the baby? Good question.

Why couldn't C-3PO deliver the baby?

You really want to trust something like that to 3PO? tongue.gif

And, yeah, what would it have hurt to have real live human beings or something organic (non-CGI) deliver the babies?

Even a guy in a Rodian suit would be better than that nurse droid.
