i saw it last night, i laughed i cried and said "fucking sweet" ALOT!!!

well, i didn't really cry... but i totally loved it, i thought it rocked the socks...

the film, for me, had only two weeknesses...

as mentioned in ekms review, katies holmes' stoke-smile

and

some dialogue that would have been mood killers if you we'rent overwhelmed by the fact that they were being delivered by alot of my favorite actors...

Cillian Murphy, had alot of trouble concealing his irish accent, but that added to the caracter for me. He plays a wonderful psycho...
the end of 28 days later, and the whole way through Disco Pigs... so the second i heard he was playing the scarecrow i knew i was going to see this film one way or another...

cliffhanger: there are alot of films where people are grabbed just before going off a cliff, and they always make it look so bloody easy...
this film didn't... and it carried through alot of the film... nothing looked too easy...

fsweet!!!

Nah, a sequel is already in the works. They're gonna disregard the old Tim Burton and the other guy's movies and just start off with a clean slate. thumbsup.gif

Just saw it then, usual minimal spoilers and reviews policy - I was a bit 'schmeh?' when I didn't hear 'did you ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight' when Thomas Wayne was killed but then I realised they were starting with a clean slate.
Wonderfully understated performances by Freeman and Caine - very nice pieces of soft-touch humour in the middle of a dark masterpiece.
Batman was a hulking giant - and I appreciated the change from the bat-nippled pretty boys of the Joel Schumacher attack. The Batmobile from the few tv spots I'd seen looked a bit iffy - but the armoured assault vehicle concept worked really well. Katie Holmes is a nice, cute girl and a fine actor.
Kudos to Scarecrow and Ras Algul - they had a nicely measured delicate touch and were properly sinister. Kudos also to whoever designed the special effects - though in places typical of Hollywood excess they were effective - the Scarecrow poisoning scenes were bizarre, twisted and they rocked.

Clean slate, fresh start, good show.

Action scenes too fast to follow, very quick opening but very ponderous beginning. Mysterious eastern sects are a very easy way to bog down a scene or movie.

(Spoilers)

And because the Scarecrow wasn't killed he can appear in the sequel. I think they shouldn't kill the villians so they can appear in a sequel.

No, they shouldn't kill the villains because the villains aren't supposed to be killed!

Well, they can kill them to be revived in a dumb way. But they shouldn't do that! That would be awful!

I think they should make the Reaper for the next Batman movie...

That comic rocks, by the way. It's actually a reprint of a 4-5 comic series. You can probably find it in a bookstore somewhere.

No, I think it's already been decided that the sequel will be for the Joker, then the next one for Two-Face (and the Joker again).
