It's no secret that I enjoy D&D and such. And if it was it's not anymore. That's why I checked out the Avatar trilogy book 1: Shadowdale by Richard Awlinson. It's a pretty interesting fantasy novel and a decent read with a fairly original premise. I'm waiting to acquire book 2 and 3.

Hey, I reads those, and they were pretty good! Funny story about that, I took the second book, Tantrus, with me to a week long Christian camp (Don't ask, even I'm not sure why I went), and the copy I have is the printing with a bunch of halfnaked women on the cover. So I was sitting there reading during one of the, "God is super, thanks for asking." dealies we had to sit through 3 or 4 times a day. One day, some wholesome girl sitting next to me smiles and asks, "Hi, what are you reading?". Since I had describing what I'm reading to people whenever they ask that, I just handed her the book. She took one look at the cover, went slightly pale, and simple said, "Oh." and handed it back to me.

I don't think she sat next to me again the rest of the week rolleyes.gif
I finally got a sig!

Good books, but those evil Gods could be more intimidating. Cyric is the best character.

I think the point was that they werent supposed to be intimidating since they were in constant danger of being discovered and slaughtered by power hungry followers. And yeah Cyric does seem to be the coolest bad guy, though he is a total dick.
