... why leave the black blur on the Emperor's cowl?
This always bothered me in the original, and I was amazed it still hasn't been rectified considering the film has undergone two revisions.
What would they try to be blocking out anyway?

As an aside: I wonder what the Ewoks would have thought about the two legs they found lying in the ashes of Vader's pyre.

it looks like someone tried to fix an error on the original film with a felt tip pen or something... so it's all wavey like an episode of dr.katz
