Go easy on this person. I've HAD Canadian Mountain Dew. A friend bought me a 2-liter bottle on his way through Canada. I had half a glass, then stuck it in the back of the fridge to save for guests I don't particularly like.
Mountain Dew thoughts on it...

Mountain Dew is alright. But I'd rather have Diet Pepsi...

I dislike Mountain Dew. The flavor is unpleasant and it's too smooth for me. However, Code Red makes a perfect mix with vodka.

Yeah, how can you settle for an infereor product just for the claims that it has slightly less sugar.

I agree, the taste is different. But the thingy is, it is acquired.
Now, I hate coffee and I have to have some caffeine from time to time.
Also, 100g of regular cola gives you app. 50 kcal, if I am not much mistaken. So a 0.5 l bottle gives you 250 kcal, an equivalent of one large doughnut, and you don't even feel like you've eaten it.
So I've been drinking diet variety for about 10 years now. And guess what! I can't stand the taste of the reguler stuff!
I can hardly stand the diet thing now. I dilute it 1:1 with carbonated water and only then is it palatable.
Never had Mountain Dew, though, not available in my country, along with other variety of American soft drinks. Does in come in diet variety?

Two points.
1. If you press the 'quote' button on others posts, you'll notice it turns red. You can then quote multiple people and reply to them all in the one post.
2. Calling people 'fags' because they disagree with you is likely to result in Heccubus or Carlos9 getting angry.

Bah, heretics. Mountain Dew is awesome.
And Diet Pepsi? Pepsi is bad enough, but any softdrink with 'Diet' in the name just isn't worth drinking...you may as well just have juice or something.

Not true. I had some Diet 7UP, and it's my absolute favorite soft drink. It's better than Mountain Dew and any other drink, but Mountain Dew still R0xx teh 50xx.

Holy quintuple posts, Batman!
Anyway, I find diet soda a slightly stupid concept. I mean, if you're trying to lose weight or keep it off, why are you drinking soda in the first place? As for Mountain Dew, I'm not a fan of the original flavor, but I like Code Red.
And since we're on the topic of soda, I may as well ask. Did anyone else notice 7up's dissapearence from shelves? It used to be that 7up was Pepsi's major lemon lime drink, and Sierra Mist was like some weird little stepchild that you'd see once in awhile. Now, SM is everywhere, and 7up is the one you only see once in awhile. You can still get it, but at the store where I work, Sierra Mist is priced with all the other Pepsi products, but 7up is way more expensive. Also, most of the fast food places replaced 7up with SM too. The only place I know of that still has 7up in the fountain machine is Carl's Jr.
For some reason, I seem to be one of only a few people to have noticed this, or maybe it's just that I'm the only one that cares

I drink Diet Sprite by the casefull. Not because of the fact that it's diet or anything, I just love it for some reason and will sit and chug the stuff all day if I'm thirsty enough. It's the only diet drink I've found that I actually like.
Dr. Pepper, however, is by far a superior soda. Bow before it, I say.
