When it arrives at the "not worth two cents" theatre, let me know.

Even the title is moronic. The Sith are the already established bad of the baddest, so much so they have to keep their numbers down to two for the sake of secrecy because the whole galaxy would gang up on them to be rid of them once and for all.So the baddies, the Sith, rake Revenge. What a giant leap in logic there.

Revenge of the Sith was actually an original name that dates back to before even ANH. old scripts and drafts, and the such. like 'Revenge of the Jedi'

So, the universe had A New Hope, but then The Empire Strikes Back, and finally The Revenge of the Jedi? Sounds like a lot of vengeance.

I'm not denying that, because I've heard as much from those who looked over the annotated screenplays, but the title "REVENGE OF THE SITH" borders on being two double negatives in one statement/title. "SISTERHOOD OF THE TRAVELLING PANTS" is more logical, less contradictory and would have been a better hit than the "Revenge" of the biggest baddies around, the "Sith" who live to do malice and guess what? In Episode III they take Revenge! What a stretch!

That's right. One of Darth Maul's only lines was about Revenge, and that was two movies ago. So many unanswered questions...

I suppose it's a back-and-forth kind of thing. Going by the names:

"The Phantom Menace" Advantage bad guys.
"Attack of the Clones" Advantage good guys (yes. really.)
"Revenge of the Sith" Advantage bad guys.
"A New Hope" Advantage good guys.
"The Empire Strikes Back" Advantage bad guys.
"Return of the Jedi" Advantage good guys.

Just a theory. And Lucas liked the word Revenge a lot and was steamed he couldn't use it for Jedi.

What in the bog are you talking about? Bad people aren't allowed to have revenge?

Because its the perfect example of Lucas lead weighted down style of writing, akin to "Plumber Fixes Pipe" rather than something with a bit of finesse.

Honestly though, was "Fall of the Republic" "Fall of the Jedi" or "Rise of the Empire" really that much better? Those are all overly descriptive and boring.

Revenge of the Sith is pretty pulpy, but not nearly as much so as "Attack of the Clones" or (worst of all) "The Phantom Menace."

Revenge of the Sith / Revenge of the Jedi. Wow one, word difference!
Return of the Jedi ---> Revenge of the Jedi ----> Revenge of the Sith

All in all, while Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones were silly titles, at least this one fits in with the others.

And to all you true fans out there, it's not "A New Hope" it's "Star Wars" dang it! Remember, Lucas added the episode title and opening crawl in 1981! wink.gif
