Haven't I driven this point home, yet? Sideous is Sifo Dyas.

Take the "ifo" from Sifo Dyas and you have S' Dyas. Plus an "if" and an "O(h)."

This is so annoying....

Syfo Dias is explained in full in the book Lybrinth Nightmare or something like that. It's around chapter 5 ot 6 I think, in a discussion between Obi-Wan and Yoda in the Jedi Temple.

I always assumed that Sifo-Dyas was Sidious but Labyrinth of Evil shows that he was another fallen Jedi idiot that was getting played by Sidious. He orders the clone army, Dooku erases the record of the planet and then kills Sifo-Dyas so no one will find out.

Of course this is all EU. It was pretty sloppy that it wasn't mentioned in ROTS.

IMO, Syfo Dias doesn't need anymore explanation in the story. All we needed to know was that he ordered the Clone Army and was later killed. I think if he knew anything more about him, things would go away from what is already going on in the story. I think it's irrelevant to find out who Syfo Dias really is.

exactly...

lucas' writing ability must seriously be called into question if one must rely on a 3season cartoon and various novels to understand the circumstance of his films...

that's fucking poor...

Hi guys! I've been lurking for a while and thought I'd post.

Labyrinth of Evil is indeed the book that ties up the plot hole that is Sifo Dyas. However, I do remember Lucas originally naming the character Sido Dyas. He later changed it, feeling that that name might be "too obvious" if I remember correctly. Much the same way he changed the Kaminoan Saber Dart from Kyber Dart (a much cooler name imo) I guess he just didn't like the sound of the name.

Anyway, there it is. Yay, my first post!

Yup, another great mystery "cleared up" and set in stone in a crappy fashion by an EU novel/guide tie-in.

Sifo Dyas, rather than just being a fake ID (of a dead guy) that Count Dooku used
to purchase the clone army, there really was a guy by that name that really was duped to buy it, and then really was killed to keep him from talking or something.

That and this "Darth Plagueis" really existed, and really was Sideous's master.
I can't wait for some source to actually state the Darth Plaugeis created Anakin with the midichlorians, rather than just leaving it as a come-on that Palpatine was baiting Anakin with.

*puts on Vader suit* NoooOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

i think lucas should make ep #-1.

A Syfo Dyas and Darth Plagus road movie...

here's the opening scrawl...

STAR WARS
-I. Prevenge of the Sith

Spree! After a successfull winning streak
in a casino on the hive world of Nar Shadaar,
Syfo Dias and his good friend Darth Plagus
(the wise) have left their dark aprentices
Darth Sidious and Darth Tyranus to get
aquainted on the remote planet Byss.

Still high on the exitment of their winnings
the two dark lords make their way to Kamino
to purchase a few million troops to be cloned
off one of the young bouncers at the casino
they met name Jango Fettowitz, a former
boxer and aspiring bounty hunter.

The two are being persued by a Rebublic
squad of crack-commandos: Swen Solo,
Ian Antillies, C3-88, private Grevious, and
Ichy the wookie, led by a slighlty younger
Yoda with a squadren of eight-winged fighters
in the hopes of thwarting their possibly evil
plans...
