Just so you know -

The link from the Nitpicks page is broken. It links to 'ep3_81-90.php' instead of 'ep3_81-91.php' blushing.gif

Just thought I'd better bring that up. Off to read now.
I dream of a better tomorrow... a tomorrow where chickens can cross roads and not have their motives questioned.

57.  The way Obi-Wan describes Vader's treachery to Luke makes it sound like it was quite a task indeed. What Obi-Wan does not explain is that there was very little hunting involved. What Vader actually did was show up and kill everyone. "It was quite easy, really," Obi-Wan might have explained. "It only really took Vader about twenty minutes. But what a hunt it was!"

87.  Another interesting question raised by this plot element is how Darth Vader seems to learn the same skill. Was he Force-eavesdropping on Obi-Wan while he communed with Qui-Gon on Tatooine? Did the Emperor teach him this trick? If so, why didn't the Emperor crash the party that the dead Obi-Wan, Yoda and Anakin had on Endor at the end of Return of the Jedi? Perhaps we will see the Emperor in the newer edition of Return of the Jedi when the six-film DVD set is released. I would fully expect a climax of 20 additional minutes where the three dead Jedi fight the dead Emperor using lightsabers. How will it turn out? We'll have to wait and see.

These two reasons were damn hilarious.

And I've finally come to agree that the Vader "Noooooo!" isn't so good, however, without it we wouldn't have stuff like this:

I agree than NOOOO was bad.

Moments like those stopped ROTS from achieving true excellency. It had a potential to surpass OT. It makes me sad;  sad.gif

ROTS never in its wildest dreams had a shot at ANH.
It could have surpassed ROTJ if it were not for the horrendous script error of which NOOOOO is the finishing touch.

Chef, I dont get Reason #86. It seems like you have the punchline but I do not really understand what it is you are talking about.

Your think about Grand Moff Tarkin is absolutely true. Who is he? Every person in the Republic Army is either a Jedi or a clone. In my opinion nothing signals Lucas' absolute lack of respect for the audience's intelligence than the inclusion of this character.

The final installment...

91 Reasons to Hate Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

I messed up... there's actually 92 reasons.   unsure.gif

The Nitpicking Saga is Complete, August 1st...

THE END OF AN ERA.

THE END OF A SAGA.

THE ADVENTURE CONCLUDES.

A SAD DAY FOR STAR WARS FANS.

THE DEATH OF MY CHILDHOOD.

THE FINAL CHAPTER...

Ok, just kidding. Best to end it with a smile and a wink and a nod. wink.gif

Hey look on the bright side, after you throw in any additional reasons and corrections you can always nitpick Lucas's never-ending revisions to the other movies! (not to mention the OT itself)

I'm not picking on you, Magee, but I just want to point something out to everyone that posts here:

I do not have every single reason memorized! When you cite a reason number without specifying what that reason is about I have NO IDEA what you are talking about!

Thank you. smile.gif

Reason #86
Padme's Death (Fighting the Prophecy)
When are people going to learn to stop fighting prophecies? I, for one, am getting mighty sick of it. How many more times must it happen that someone tries to fight a prophecy and ends up causing the very thing they're trying to prevent? I'm not mystified by this anymore. Sophocles may have had something pretty fresh in 450 B.C. when he wrote Oedipus, but the whole idea of trying to stop the prophecy but actually causing it to happen is a bit played out at this point. Sure, it's a classic motif (most of Star Wars is), but it makes you wonder why the Jedi are perceived as wise at all. Do any of them spend any time reading any of that stuff in their giant library?

Im sorry.

Don't be sorry. I've just been getting emails and such for 4 years now saying things like, "BTW: In reason #33 I think you're wrong. That wouldn't happen." Then I inevitably have to look up exactly what they're talking about. My own fault for numbering the reasons, I suppose.

But you're probably right regarding #86. I'm not quite sure what I was rambling about. wink.gif

Having only discovered this site a few months ago i do admit it has become a second home for me. Having the "nitpicks" end does seem a bit sad, but Chef Elf I am sure you will find hilarity in the mundane, the obtuse, and the idiotic anywhere. Loved the last batch.

Thanks, Monkey Rancher!

I have read the ROTS novelization twice and heavily annotated it with comments. My thoughts were to review the novelization and the video game (which sucks, by the way) and run them as features. Unfortunately I think I lost a little steam. Maybe I'll get around to doing them. More than likely I won't.

Instead I've been working on chapters of Castles, The Princes That Fought to run on Lance & Eskimo instead.

Equally futile.

The Episode III video game? The much vaunted ROTS game sucks?

LoL!

Then again I guess the same was said about the "Enter the Matrix" game when the Matrix sequels were in theaters. Once the dust kicked up by all the fanboys cleared, it was revealed (by consensus) as an overhyped mediocre movie-tie. And this is also the case with ROTS: The game?

The graphics look incredible (especially for a console game) as one would expect for a game based on a movie about eye candy. It was billed as "The ultimate Jedi simulator" and the "Jedi wish fulfillment fantasy come true" by the hype machine operators. Of course I treasured my JK series on the PC (especially Jedi Academy), and I wondered if it would be threatened by this console only title. Of course then I learned that the game's multiplayer would consist solely of a few one on one saber duels and some dumbed down coop (only a fraction of the total game's SP storyline). I checked a strategy guide in the store the other day and it seems you can only pick a handful of ROTS characters too. Sure there's a bonus game where you play as Vader and kill Kenobi in the ANH duel, but you can apparently only play as Vader (suck! I wanted to see if Ben could beat him if he wasn't intent on surrendering or vice versa).

I'd love to hear your comments.. to see what I was missing... (don't own a PS2, Xbox or Gamecube).
