I'm with Chefelf on the 'too little, too late' part of the relationship between Anakin, Obi-Wan and Palpatine. They should have been done in a good manner over the span of all three of the movies to give a believable and proper character development.

Anakin never didn't anything with Palpatine in the first movie except for Palpatine stating that he would follow his career 'with great interest', the second movie only showed the scene in Palpatine office. Now we're suddenly expected to believe that they have any real or meaningful relationship even though we see none of it on screen?

The scene in AOTC implied a lasting relationship, didn`t it?

And you remember Anakin`s political statements in AOTC, do you?

I liked his articles for TPM and AotC a lot. As well as being funny, they made a lot of good points. This one just smacks of trying to get up to 91. Disappointing, but considering the improvment of Sith over both Phantom and Clones, perhaps inevitable.

I't doesn't implies anything, it SAYS that there have a long relationship but you can't feel it. Why not just do the final fight and they both, Anakin and Obi talk about the entire prequels. The PT coul have been implied then, and we avoid the shame.

You have not heart, we all want to forget that!

We brought it up a year ago, but you may have discovered on your own. that Aotc scene was added in post-production. someone reminded Lucas there was no shown connection between the two vitals. The former LFL employee was right.

Coruscant rock concert doesn't cut it. This is the SW, dammit! We need something more brainy. Like galactic chess!
And constant applause for nothing incredibly different from moments ago will add to the weighty feel!

Reason #47
"No! No! No!"
When Mace Windu and a trio of Jedi lightweights show up at Chancellor Palpatine's office to arrest him, he isn't having any of it. When Mace disarms Palpatine and corners him, he informs Palpatine that he has lost. This prompts Palpatine to make a ridiculous face and say "No! No! No! You will die!" in what may be the silliest scene in any Star Wars movie yet.

Thank you again! While I was watching this, nobody around me caught on to how stupid that scene was. NO NO NO. I started to laugh, it sounded so fake and over acted.

I can't believe, honestly, how this passed the editing room. Lucas is a total f'in putz. I just can't f'in believe it!

Chefelf, these Reasons get better every week. The Chicken Lady... the facial expressions... the 'Looks Like Darth Sidious' contest...

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

Found a slight error on the latest round of Nitpicks, ChefElf....

Reason #50
Force Lightning & Scarring
So what exactly happened to the Emperor between the end of Episode III and Episode VI? When Palpatine gets blasted with his own Force lightning, his face changes color and takes on a new form, unlike what we see in Return of the Jedi. Palpatine is not the first character we've seen blasted with Force lightning. We've seen Obi-Wan get blasted twice and Luke get blasted once. All of those attacks resulted in no facial scarring.

Is it the deflection by a lightsaber that causes the lightning to cause facial scarring? If so, then I'll shut up right now because that makes perfect sense.

I think you're mistaken here. We've NEVER seen Obi-Wan get blasted. He blocked it with his lightsaber in AOTC when attacked with it by Dooku, remember?
Yoda blocks lightning with his hands in AOTC and in ROTS (though he also gets hit once, twice if you count the "explosion" between him and Sideous, but that appeared to be some kind of "backfire" or "overload" I don't know really how to explain that one, but for the sake of argument, we'll agree that Yoda gets hit at least once).

The people we've seen hit with Force Lightning in all the movies are as follows:

Anakin = AOTC; smokes, no facial scarring
Yoda = ROTS; no facial scarring
Mace Windu = ROTS; glowing skeleton, no facial scarring
Anakin (Vader) = ROTJ; glowing skeleton, smoke and sparks, no facial scarring (well, maybe, maybe not, we don't see him under the helmet before to compare, though the back of his head is certainly nasty looking a year prior in ESB)

And of course Palpatine in ROTS, who smokes AND has facial scarring as well as vocal distortion for awhile after being hit. Hmm....

Anyway, otherwise well done, very funny. wink.gif

PS: Did you go back and fix it so that Reason #31 isn't listed twice (on two pages)?

The only thing I found amiss with this week's reasons was that Benedict XVI did not particpate in the contest, I am sure he would have been very near the top... But that wouldn't be Chefelf's style, so I don't really have a problem with it. smile.gif

That totally would have been my style. Damn. I'm just sorry I didn't think of it. From now on, I'm consulting you on all major decisions, Madam Corvax. smile.gif

There wasn't much of an improvement over Phantom and Clones, you have fallen for Lucas's darkside trap of waiting over 20 years to continue a trilogy, make 2 terrible films and then the final film is a slight improvement over said previous 2, but rabid fans are so desperate for a half way decent film, they'll take what they can get and laud it to the skies.

And chef's nic pics are funny and again do make a lot of good points, refer you now to my above comments.
