Chefelf, take your time with the reasons to get them right. I'd rather wait and love 'em then to have them now and only like them.

I was in no way rushing him, I just wanted to express my pain of having to wait to experience the hilarity. Oh, and by the way, are the CW cartoons availible on DVD? I've never seen them and would like to.

If you haven't, here's three to include:

A. Killing Younglings. I mean, if his reason to kill the Jedi was because the Council was supposedly planning to go traitor to the Republic, and only the Council knew of it, why would the Younglings deserve to die?

B. Preggy Padme in a miniskirt. Vomit.

C. The General Grievous fight, bleh, it was too half sided (as in, while Obi-Wan didn't use the Force to crush him into the cube, it wasn't as hard of a fight as it should have been). Overpowered many not be good, but neither is making him underpowered.

ChefElf:

So do you have most of them done and you're just waiting to post them every week or are you really still writing them (not just adding on a couple from the stuff we post here)?

'Cause I'm moving at the end of the summer and I was hoping to be able to read something fun to take my mind of getting ready to move (not missing anything).

wink.gif

Btw, I am reading the ROTS novel and it acts as if the Chancellor has a "signal beacon" that the Jedi could have turned off (Grevious calls them "idiots" for not doing so). So apparently it isn't supposed to just be lifesigns that are used to track them. In Attack of the Clones Obi-Wan refers to Anakin's "tracking signal" so I guess they must carrying homing beacons of some kind with them (it's not too surprising, since Obi-Wan can toss a homing beacon onto Jango's ship also in AOTC and it's a little pocket-watch sized thingy).

Then again, why would Grevious/Dooku be so stupid as to have a homing beacon on Palpatine that anyone could use to track him? On the other hand if it were a trap... wink.gif

And I know you have a life beyond this website and the going's-on, but we're fans so what do you expect? Don't forget to proof-read the first page!

Going back to R2's boosters. My washing machine had a fast spin dry feature, it doesn't work now because the machine is old but it was a nice thing to have at the time, the same as the electric sun roof on my car. Perhaps this is the same for R2, he's an old droid and maybe the boosters have just seen better days and don't work anymore. With the limited resources of the Rebel Alliance - modifying starfighters, being chased around the galaxy etc, they perhaps don't have the time to repair them. Or maybe they don't have an astrodroid jet booster specialist on the team, after all, they make Generals out of every misfit that Princess Leia brings home with her which would suggest a lack of specialist personnel.

Furthermore, I don't have a problem with R2 'ejecting' out of the starfighter, it would make sense to have such a feature for when a ship crash lands. As for why they don't do that in the hangers, well, if you had a whole fleet of x-wings in one hanger it would be a bit dangerous to have astrodroids springing out left, right and centre, it would probably be against the hangar's health and safety codes and could take someones eye out.

As for Grievous, I couldn't agree with Chefelf more. I didn't see the CW cartoons but I did read about Grievous and was expecting something akin to 'Maximillian' from 'The Black Hole'. Instead I was left, during my first watch of the film, feeling that he was going to kidnap Padme and tie her to a railway track. Very disappointing.

They're done for the most part. Just need to finish editing and putting on finishing touches. smile.gif

Hopefully I'll have the next one up this Monday.

I noticed that reason #89 has the picture of Governor Tarkin. I can't believe Chef is going to complain about that. It's not like Vader came onto the Star Destroyer bridge and the Emperor said,"Lord Vader, I am pleased to introduce you to Governor Tarkin. He will be overlooking the construction of the Death Star."

I think it is kind of neat how similar the young and old Tarkin look.

Undoubtedly, reason #90 will complain about the construction of the Death Star. Many of you may be shocked to hear this, but I do agree with Chef on this one. It shouldn't take 20 years to make the first Death Star and 2 years to make the second.

When I heard them say "killing younglings" my first thought was, "No, they killed Yung Ling, the Chinese ambassador to Great Britain!"

I realized how un-funny it was when it slipped out of my mouth in the theater, shortly after thinking it up. How ashamed I am... boo hoo

Oh, while I'm at it, the phrase "younglings" was stupid. When did "children" become unacceptable? I know it's a galaxy far, far away, but they're already speaking english, so why not keep it colloquial, hmm? smile.gif

I got the impression that they used "younglings" because there were young aliens as well as human kids killed. Still stupid, though; I'd think that if a species is advanced enough to become Jedis, they'd be advanced enough to be called by humanized names.

I think that either...

A. They had experience building it, so that they could finish faster (Gushing)

or

B. They shoulda jumped ahead to a few years before Episode IV in that scene.
