No matter how valid or invalid his points were, there were still pretty dam funny. Especially those comics.

QUOTE (diligent_d @ Jun 5 2005, 11:10 PM)
I think this will be the only time I come across as an apologist, but I think it's fairly obvious that Palpatine had been feeding and manipulating Anakin since he was a child, inserting subtle thoughts and ideas into his head.  When the time came for Anakin to fall to the darkside, he fell quickly due to years of build-up and attrition...

Sort of. The Anakin/Palpatine relationship is only squeezed into the 3rd film. We're supposed to believe that Anakin and Palpatin had a developing friendship during his entire childhood, but in the first 2 films, all that's shown is one offhand comment in TPM and one bonding scene in AOTC. This is a very minor nitpick though; since I felt their bond was done really well in ROTS.

Anyway, Maddox makes some valid points, exaggerated as his rants are. However, there are some comments I must make:
- Yes, the name "Grievous" is pretty lame, but it's not like it's a problem with the PT exclusively. How about Greedo in ANH? Really shows his, uh, greed.
- I don't blame Anakin for taking his dreams very seriously. Let's not forget that in ESB, Luke was having visions of the future of Han and Leia in pain. Luke doesn't question it. Neither does Yoda. He knows it WILL happen (though he doesn't know if they will die). We just have to accept that prophetic visions are commonplace in the Star Wars universe, and Anakin just wasn't dreaming. And the dream does come true.
- When Anakin chokes Padme, yes, he was acting in the heat of the moment.

Mustafar was CGI? Where did everyone get this idea?

Presumably because Hayden Christensen did not, unfortunately, get his limbs cut off and then toasted in a pit of red-hot molten rock.

But, what does that got to do with anything. I thought Mustafar was pretty impressive, whether it was CGI or not.

It doesn't seem like a tough choice for me.  Either join the guys who treat you poorly or join the one man who has been consistently encouraging you ever since you left your previous life behind.

I lost focus for a minute. I actually thought you were explaining why gushers ought not accept the truth.

Mustafar was CGI? Where did everyone get this idea? Sure some of it was CGI, but the whole thing was a model with a real flowing lava type substance, made to look like the lava. I think the only parts in the movie for Mustafar that were CGI was the creatures in the scenes and the lava bursting up since it was a huge volcano basically.

You're right, it wasn't actually CGI, it was all filmed on location on Io, Jupiter's volcanic moon! That's why it looks so realistic!

I thought Io was an Ice moon.

Oh, and good one, Chef.

How could it possibly be filmed on a moon of Jupiter? We can't even make it past Mars.
