I just read that George will be writing and directing at least the first few episodes of the Star Wars TV show.
Translation: the Star Wars TV show is going to suck.
I actually had hopes for this show, because I figured Star Wars would be better in anyone else's hands.
Whatever someone new does can't be WORSE than whatever George has already done.
But sadly Star Wars shall remain in Lucas' hands.
And that means the crap shall continue, albeit on the small screen.
What a pity.
I guess the dream really IS over.

Go check out my prequel fanfics. Maybe you will like them, as an alternative to the PT that Lucas made. You know, I'm getting sick and tired of advertising it. So I am going to stop. You guys can find it on your own.

The show will need to be about all-new characters, and it needn't have anything to do with STAR WARS continuity, since as far as George is concerned, that has all been resolved.
Therefore, the show has better odds of not sucking than the films did: it will be all-new stories, all-new characters, no effort to attach itself to longer story arcs, and guranteed more action per minute than Star Trek.
My bet: only 50/50 it will suck. Better odds than I gave the prequels.
