Mom Indicted for Hiring Stripper for Son's 16th Birthday
"Who are they to tell me what I can and can't show to my own children?"

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 29) - A mother faces criminal charges after she hired a stripper to dance at her 16-year-old son's birthday party.

Anette Pharris, 34, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and involving a minor in obscene acts. The boy's father, the stripper and two others also face charges.

''I tried to do something special for my son,'' Pharris said. ''It didn't harm him.''

About 10 people under the age of 18 were at the birthday party in September, including minors who were not related to the family, authorities said.

Police spokesman Don Aaron said minors are not permitted in adult establishments.

''A person shouldn't be allowed to circumvent that law by hiring a stripper, a lady who took all her clothes off and spent a good amount of time dancing around minors,'' he said.

Anette Pharris took photos at the party and tried to have them developed at a nearby drug store. Drug store employees notified authorities, police said.

''Who are they to tell me what I can and can't show to my own children?'' the mother said.

All my mum ever did was occasionly pick up alcohol for our parties, and only then when my brother wouldn't do it. I hope this kid looks back in a couple of years and is thankful!

Thanks to Jane Sherwood for this one!

I, like Emu, read that bit wrong the first time and was temporarily disturbed.
What a kickass stunt to pull. I'm sure the lads were very thankful.
Didn't the stripper have a bit of a WTF moment when she realised she was dancing for 16-year olds? or did she not notice?

This just goes to show you that you need to be careful if you're taking potentially incriminating photographs.

This woman kicks ass though, and lets face it at sixteen most of them have already seen all there is to see anyhow. The law is being a prick.

That's a fair point, actually, quite suprised I missed it. When I was developing the photos in my last (and tragically only) job, I saw nearly everything. Holiday pictures, pony pictures, boobies, and far too many pictures of peoples dicks. Did I say anything? Did I bollocks. I developed them, gave them to the buyers, and didn't even blink. It was no different to giving people their perscriptions, its not my business, so I didn't ask. Simple as that.

I do it myself sometimes...
Still - these photodevelopers are bloody nosy... still at least it's better than them looking at your phots, getting attached to your family and then turning into creepy stalkers a la One Hour Photo.

no it's the same...

they would have had to be looking aroung saying..."hmmm, i think the these guys are 16..."

how did they know these kids were under 18? there isn't that much difference between a 16 year old and an 18 year old...

and why aren't these talented people working out the front of pubs with their super ability to identify the exact age of someone just by looking at photos of them...

?

no, i dare say these nobs down at the photolab new them and were jelous...

Yeah, prolly. So they said "That jerk who we don't like thinks he can not invite us to his birthday party where there are strippers? We'll get his parents arrested."

Serious narcing there though. Fucktards.

My mom sadly obeys the laws, no matter how stupid they are. (21 drinking age here, for starters.)

Edit: Unneccessary commas.
