When Obi Wan speaks to Monfriare Courdoroy Face, he is told that thousands of droids are on level ten. Rather that wait the extra three minutes for backup, he decides to be a cowboy and have a go of it alone. The next scene is priceless. Old Obi drops in, announces his presence, and then is immediately surrounded. What a dumbass. Than the bigger dumbass, GG, pulls the old, "NO! Leave him to me!" Later, old Obi whistles for his lizard bird like in the old westerns. I know this saga is a kind of space western, but I was half expecting Obi to pull out a blaster, give a Yee Haw!, and fire wildly into the air while he rode his lizard bird into the sunset. Where is the patient Obi Wan in this movie? We see him alot in episode 2, what kind of mid-life crisis is he going through?

Dude, it's the Clone Wars and there is a war going on. You can't be too patient about these things. Obi-Wan was chasing the General to kill him and end this war. He doesn't need to be patient about those kinds of things.

As logistically stupid as that was for Obi-Wan to do (though the Jedi do seem to be nearly invincible against battle droids up until this point) I rather enjoyed Obi-Wan just saying, "Hello there!"

I thought Obi-Wan was pretty funny in this movie. He certainly seemed to be a joker on screen.

I agree, he was funny and brought some much needed humour. I quite liked Obi Wan much better in Episode 3 compared to him doing nothing in Episode 1 and a real tight ass in Episode 3.

The lizardbird is soooooo unnecessary. Just more CGI wanking from Lucas. I loved how they introduced it too; the camera focuses on it for what seems like at least a minute before it actually does anything. After all, the audience needs time to bask in its CGI glory. rolleyes.gif

I don't mind the IDEA, but the CGI just looks so phoney! I'm just underwhelmed by it. I wanted to like it---I really did!!

Dude, I said that it was three minutes, give or take, before the clones come in. What kind of general sticks his ass on the line if he does not need to? I know that Obi Wan lived through this ordeal, his gamble paid off. Still, GL could have shown some restaint in Obi Wan that is so typical of his character in every other movie. His "drop in" approach is just instigating a battle he could not have won on his own. His arrogance and recklessness are so uncharacterist of the jedi. If Obi Wan were my general, my ass would go awol after seeing a stupid stunt like that.

Also, do I detect a hint of a Russian accent from GG?

What bothered me the most was the stupid noise the stupid bird horse thing made. It's like the dude in charge of the sound effects kept hitting the same damn button over and over again.. and the noise was stupid to begin with.

yes, it seems like Lucas just wanted to get that thing in because he thought it looked cool. I got so sick of watching that stupid thing.

Silly Grievous too... his damn magna droids had a go, but we'd seen how much the separatists loved putting droidekas against Jedi. Rather than, "leave him to me, general's pride and honour despite the fact my organic-to-mechanic ratio is about the same as a radio with a layer of mould around it", he should have just had the droidekas kill him.
Still, I didn't really mind 'hello there'

It would've been fine if he dropped in and at the same time the clones showed up, then there would've been mass confusion as Obi took on GG, but as stated, he went cowboy and took on GG by himself. We can't forget that stupid psuedo-ninja pose Obi picks up about 3/4 the way through the movie. That was stupid

I can't explain why, but I rather liked that bird creature that Obi Wan road. I even liked the noise it made. I found characters like Nute Gunray, and Tan we, much much more annoying. Also, I am ruling General Greivous as my least favorite star wars character ever. He belongs in the trash pile. And what a lame way to die. They should have just kept Dooku or Maul alive and used one of them. As much as I hated Maul, at least he actually causes drama by killing a main character.
