If you look carefully you can see that Mace leaves the Jedi temple alone. He tells Anakin to wait in the Coucil room.. then files off. But when he arrives at the Emperor.. he has escorts. Where did he get them from?

The street I tell you. Jedi were all spread out at the outer-rim of the galaxy.. so he picked out two fierce looking guys from the street :"Here.. grab this lightsaber and look sharp. He'll never know the diference". Mace was pretty cunning. thumbsup.gif
And yeah.. I second that: The chancelor of the republic not only has a lightsaber.. .but is constantly left alone durring the movie just so conveniently so he can fight.
  Hey, I'm from Romania !

I just watched it again last night. Mace had the other jedi in his transport ship. You can see them when he tells Anakin to stay his bitch-ass home!!! laugh.gif

One thing people seem to ignore:

Kit Fisto DOES defend. He lasts for at least ten seconds. It's not that hard to miss, folks. ¬¬

Ten?
Three.
But Mace doesn't move to the front to shoulder with him despite having already been at the front and so squidhead goes down like a sack of Jedi potatoes.
That spinning torpedo attack of Palpatine's and the red (ahh! red saber = evil!) saber was silly.

#1. What was so silly? Red is evil. Evil is Palpatine. Palpatine is Sith. Sith is evil. Evil is red. Red is blood. Blood is simple. Simple is simply simple!

#2. Three? No. Ten? Maybe generous. Seven? Good.

You know, I wish there had been a better explanation for different colored lightsabers in SW. The whole "it's different crystals they use" baloney is just silly to me. When I was a kid (yeah, blame my inner child), I always believed that the lightsaber color changed if you were good or evil... yeah, mood sabers. smile.gif So, of course, when Luke momentarily delves into the darkside, his saber would've turned red. It would be a great explanation to why they carry them (because, technically speaking, they are very limited weapons).

"Look, master, I'm not evil, really..."
"Then show your blade..."
"Grrrr...."

What annoys the heck out of me from this scene is how surprised Mace is when Anakin tells him that Palps is a sith lord. He's like are you sure? Surely you jest. Even after Dooku tells obi wan that a sith lord controls the senate, and they say that palpatine is shrouded in the dark side. Not to mention Palpatine went from lobbyist to Dictator in like 3 years. And they have figured out all of this even as "they are losing their ability to use the force" *Mace Windu - Attack of the Clones.

Why don't these movie makers not listen to their fans.

the problem is that they do...

fans: you're so great everything you do is awsome.
makers: hey, sweet... everything you say? then i'll do anything!!!

apparantly its better in the novel...

but they did go down rather quickly, although I watched closely the third time and the first guy has a graet "WTF?!" look on his face just before he goes down. I dont think they went down as easy as some here are saying, but reality was against Lucas in that scene, so i think he did it quickly before you got a chance to think about how implausible it is.

That's one way to bypass the suspension of disbelief - quickly.

...hmmm. I finally got to rewatch the scene... You are right. All three of them leave from the Jedi temple.

What worries me now is a line that Mace gives to Anakin BEFORE he learns about Palpy being a Sith: "We are on our way to make sure the chancelor gives up his powers"(something like that).

Basic ideea is:
- convincing a chancelor to give up his war-time powers: 3 Jedi required.
- fighting the sith lord: also 3 Jedi sufice . unsure.gif

Mace had it comming.
I know that you believe you understood what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you read is not what I meant.

The only Jedi to make any real dent in the Sith was Obi-Wan.
(Sith Lords are our specialty)
He got Maul, though in a contrived-ish way, he got Mister Darkside, he stood toe-to-toe with Dooku in Clones without losing an arm or being a super grover. Not to mention Mister Fourarms, I mean Grievous.
Anakin got Dooku, but Dooku in Sith wasn't that impressive.
Yoda held his own against Dooku and Palps but didn't manage any results.
Mace took the Macettes and still got whipped by Palpatine, who was only playing weak to pull at Anakin's heartstrings - we see how eagerly he nukes Mace after the arms go with an intensity that would have taken him even with the arms up.

they probably should have taken anikan with them...

even though the scene with anikan sitting in the temple looking out the window and padme sitting in their uptown penthouse (with open glass roof, great way to keep a secret... er..sorry, back to the point...) was the only scene between the two i liked...

but taking anikan along would have made him feel more important, and the boy was just after some gratification (even though it was inconsistant and insatiable - one minute he's complimenting obi wan who flatters him, then he's bitching... all over the place, that boy is), but mace had an oportunity to make him feel like part of the scooby gang, and let him ride in the mystery machine to go demask palpatine...

i blame mace...

Yeah, he's a robot who was trained to use the sabers. He doesn't have access to the force, he just reacts based on what he sees, hence how easily Obi defeated him. I have proof too! Lucas says that there's only ever one master and one apprentice. Therefore GG isn't sith, cause Palpy had dooku.
