The ubiquitous dissatisfaction with the prequel trilogy is evident. If Lucas were to redo the movies, would anyone give him another chance??? Maybe you can post what you would want changed. Maybe this has been done before but I claim Newbie immunity.......... whistling.gif

There is nothing wrong with the prequels from my point of view, so it would be a waste of time for me to say either way.

I wouldn't trust him to rewrite it.

Well considering Lucas was dissapointed with the previous Indy 4 script and decided to write it himself, lets just pretend that movie will never exist.

And Lucas would NEVER rewrite the PT, he's stated they're as close to perfect as he can get

Wow... that's reassuring and disturbing at the same time.
That was perfect?

If he couldn't write the first one... then the second one... then the third one properly, why would we trust him to write a second first one... a second second one... second third one, properly? I can only imagine them getting worse and worse with Lucas at the helm.

If Anyone else wrote a new set, and it was sanctioned by lucasfilm as the official PT (That other one was a dream) would you watch it?

Sorry to get you excited. It's not going to happen.

If Lucas did it, no. If someone else with some actual talent came along and overhauled it like they did with the new Battlestar Galactica, I definately would.

Once Lucas has been dead for like 75 years Star Wars becomes public domain - I think. So you never know, it could happen.

Or maybe Lucasfilm will still own the rights and it will be up to them. But even so, eventually (like in the next 1 or 2 hundred years) they'll be remade. Unless China bombs America and conquers it first. But then again the Future Chinese superpower would probably still remake it. I mean the Chinese make movies too - albeit really boring, crappy ones.

Even if they were to be redone by another GOOD writer/director, its too soon after these prequels, and we're already oversaturated with Star Wars. Maybe 20-25 years from now if someone who didn't have the last name of Lucas or McCallum wanted to redo the prequels it could be interesting. The originals never need to be redone because they're timeless biggrin.gif (well maybe if someone wanted to redo ROTJ it might be an improvement......)

If he didn't like the previous Indy 4 script- my guess is it was pretty good.

Lucas has proven himself to have little or no taste, so he's basically like a living embodiment of opposite day now.

If he loves it- it stinks.

If he hates it- it's probably great.

God I wish he and Spielberg would just leave Indiana Jones alone.

That character was a sign of the times but those times are over.

Clearly the new star wars trilogy proves that you can't go home again.

Just let Indy die, don't force him into a bad movie that will only serve to diminish our love for the good ones.

Well the only good news is both Ford and Spielberg have much better taste in things than does Lucas, so I doubt they'd let his brand of crap stick, but like you said, the character should not be revisited again. Let it die in peace.
