Hey! Have you guys seen this? Nooooooooooo!

It actually puts the Nooo in a good light even if it was poorly executed for Vadar.

additionally, that's what Dylan shouted when his car exploded with his girlfriend in it. The trap was set for Dylan, by the girlfriends mob-boss dad. (90210, mid-nineties.)

Ok, it's a valid line. rolleyes.gif

It's amazing that it happens in all 6 movies but this is the only time that it's inexcusably hilarious and terrible. I think it's just the site of Vader doing it that makes it so ridiculous.

A short confrontation between Vader and Sidious would have been better.

Vader should have been more Terminator than Frankenstein.

They tore him down rather than built him up in terms of his Coolness Cache.

According to the ROTS DVD Commentary. GL was paying homage to the Frankenstein Monster. About 500 people came to the set to watch that scene dumb struck as it was being filmed.

"Darth Vader (Anakin) became a Monster." "Sidious had created a Monster." GL said.

General Grievous was foreshadowing for Darth Vader.

i think it's the fact that he's reacting to the news that someone he tried to kill eventually died.

that and the poorly syncronised movements that go with it... he looked like cookie monster reacting to a loss of cookies...

that, and the line he reacted to was basically: "i think you hit her a little to hard there, ricki."

Furthermore, there is a big difference between not getting a saber spoon and learning that the person you sacrificed your life for has died.  Most people would start instantly crying if they learned a loved one had died.

what movie were you watching?

QUOTE (Storm @ Jun 12 2005, 01:24 PM)
I was watching Spiderman 2 the other night, and Dr.Octopus screams "Nooooooo!" in a pose when he wakes up in the hospital.

that movie sucked too....

The spiderman/doc ock was cute because his widdle hands were "crying" wiff him.

Now HOW do you suppose the 500 people suppressed their laughter for the take? Oh yeah, the Skywalker sound guys.

Ha! Pure Gold! Terrific Call-back!

ROTS (yes, it spells rots as in 'this movie like the roast left on the picnic table for a week rots...." Ultra-Special Edition, coming soon:

Vader: "Where's Padme?"

Palpatine: "It seems in your rage, you killed her" [smiles away from Vader's view]

Vader [breaks restraints, crushes droids in a rage, medi-containers containing fluids burts in his Dark Force rage]

"Nooooooo!!!!!!!"

Palpatine: "Yessss!!!!!! That's what happened!!!"

Vader: "Nooooo!!!!!!!"

Palpatine: "Yessssss!!!!!!!"

Vader: "Noooooo!!!!!!!"

and so on until Ep IV.....

Um...I'm pretty sure Vader didn't want to kill her. "She was alive! I felt it!"

Man, I can't believe I used to justify that scene. It's too bad, because I liked the prior scenes where Vader was being constructed and when we hear his breath for the first time.

The only thing I like about the scene is how Palpatine starts grinning as Vader is losing it. Aside from that, it's just ridiculously bad and hilarious.

You have to keep in mind that the funny part of the scene is James Earl Jones' reading of the line. On the set, it was just Hayden's muffled voice, which I'll bet was nowhere near as hilarious.
