The Guy Game
Booze, boobs, and, uh, trivia? You betcha.

January 21, 2004 - Videogames are predominately played by males, and as surging sales of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto franchise have shown, there's a huge market for the male demographic. The newly formed Topheavy Studios (run by Jeff Spangenberg, former head of Retro Studios, which was responsible for the GameCube hit Metroid Prime) set out just over a year ago to create a videogame for this demographic. Appropriately named The Guy Game, Topheavy's unique new home console title is the very epitome of that goal.

The Facts

    * Features topless, M-rated nudity
    * Integrates drinking game A**hole, allowing for custom rules
    * 20 episodes, each with multiple girls
    * Custom FMVs were filmed on the beach
    * Diversified by the 3D BallzOut challenges
    * Color commentary mocks you as you play along
    * 1-4 players

The Guy Game, which is still looking for a publisher, is aimed squarely at testosterone-laden college students, spring breakers, and, well, any red-blooded American guy. Forming a sinful trinity, it combines boozing, nudity, and revelry. There's no question that it's a party game. It sets itself apart from other party games in that you don't have to pretend that it's a drinking game or fathom special party rules to make it work. Admit it: you've tried to turn everything from Super Monkey Ball to Eye Toy into alcohol-driven party games. The Guy Game doesn't pretend to be anything else; it's style is a blend of Girls Gone Wild, the long-standing drinking game A**hole, and, well...You Don't Know Jack.

I am desperatly hoping that that is a hoax. The Mteroid Prime guys going to that crap? If I want nudity, I look on the Internet, not in my video games. Let's get serious here, guys and gals. It's bad enough that if we say one thing about women who clean obsessively we get castrated, but they can go around claiming that every male is just a penis with legs, a mouth, and eyes, so we can watch foot ball and drink lots of beer. Yargh I say!

That is by far the most *foul expletive* ridiculous thing I have ever heard. If that sees store shelves, I will sell my game console and abandon all hope for the gaming industry.

Well there aren't many four player hentai games.

Sadly.

If I need a drinking game, I find a deck of cards.
If I need some nudity, I turn to either Kaaza, or a woman (usually the former)
If I need to play computer games, I boot up the Sims, or Commander Keen.

Not an awful lot of room for crossover, methinx.

sad.gif It has to be a hoax....

People aren't that stupid and/or simple-minded...are they? unsure.gif

I'm in total agreement with Chyld and Hecc.

How the hell would you even play a drinking game on a console? The screen goes blurry, and your options are limited? Sounds really dumb.

Admittedly I'm not a man, but I fail to see the point of a game like this. Why pay £20 or so for a computer game that lets you play drinking games and look at porn? You can find a million drinking games on the Internet for free, and presumably vast amounts of porn as well.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

I remember playing Time Splitters 2 whilst drinking. It didn't work very well. Somebody said something funny whilst I was drinking and I ended up spitting beer all over my controller. My wavebirds never been the same since sad.gif
