Hmmm, reading people on first impressions are much more difficult after you've seen/posted with for a while.

I really hope that I can get a skill like that, it seems just so mind-numbingly useful for a (future) shop owner.

QUOTE (Madam Corvax @ Jun 15 2005, 01:08 AM)
looktothesky I am a bit lost here, I admit, becuse again I did not know this is a reference to a game. Therefore I might be totally wrong, but this name sands for me a strong message "I am a bit romantic and not of this world" - that I literally do not heed the mundane. But again, I might be totally, totally wrong here, but this is the message I got. Plus artistic avatars, challenging and with sense of humour spell an artist for me (bit like Laughlyn's avatars do, too)

i think her current avatar tells us all we need to know about her...

awww thanks MC, you're very wise to be able to figure things out like that and read between the lines.

Bloody good job there, Madam.
You're right on with the guess - Mnesymone is derived from Mnemosyne, the titaness associated with memory - I just retained the same word elements but altered it so it wasn't a feminine designation.

And the character analysis was right on too.... I'm almost disturbed at how accurate it was.

Yes, yes, I am still around. I was supposed to revise for the grammar exam, but I spent my day yesterday on Taris and Dantooine instead...

Anyway - I am also a bit disturbed about Laughlyn. Hey, boyo, if you are reading this, we want you back!

Reader- weeeell - if you want us to get the impression that you are an epitome of cool, maybe switching avatar to Boba Fett would be good idea wink.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Seriously, all this "reading" is not an arcane thing at all and it is NOT a character reading! It is just the message I get when I see the name and avatr. As we can see, the message may be planted subconsciously, or not planted at all, or decoded wrongly (see Reader's case).

An example how a name affected me was the guy Dr Lecter - do you remember him? He was a decent enough person, but somehow becuase of his name I could not quite warm up to him, becuase it was the time when Hannibal was at large. I even thought him an alter ego of Hannibal, and even the cool John Lennon avatar did not help.

Anyway rock_dash. I generally have a problem with names with no capitals. They seem a bit nondescript to me. Also rock_dash - as usual the reference, if any, is lost on me. On the other hand the name is short, catchy and easy, saying that the owner is a sociable enough person. Avatar, on the other hand, sends a huge positive signal - "like me", because it is smiling. Smiling avatars in general are a big yes and tend to do a lot of good to an image of a n00b. Also cartoons are a positive signal, usually meaning sense of humour to me.

Chyld - now there is a nut to crack - as Kirby said, it is necessary to forget what I know about you and concentrate on avatar and name only.
I hope you will take it all in good part (as most people here...)
Anyway, Chyld sends both signal of immaturity (for obvious associatios) and sophistications (I instantly thought about Chylde Harold, if you know my meaning). So, when I first saw yor name (I think it was JYAMG who mentioned you to me) I thought istanttly - a prodigy child, a sort of local genius. Now, your skull avatar supports the prodigy image (a young person wise beyond the years), but the elephant avatar is so cute that is strenghtens the image of youth...
That is how I read it... blushing.gif

And Laughlyn - again, if you are around, this one is especially for you. The selection of name was almost perfectly suited to this forum. When I first saw you I had to check the date when you joined to see that you were indeed a n00b - I felt like you had been around for a long time. The name is abolutely gorgeous (instant association with laugh and it has a proper exotic and British touch to it). And the artistic, lovely avatars, SCREAMING artist! Perfect! smile.gif

MISSING PERSONS alert

Have you seen me?

My name is Laughlyn.

I usually post short but sweet posts, many of them in the Game Room.

If seen, please contact Chefelf by any means necessary.

(I also heard Kirby was going to take a break from the net. Said so on his blog. sad.gif)
